The hotel was overall good. The location is great and very close to the central station. Perfect for a short stay. Only the air condition was not good. You can't adjust the temperatur and only decide whether to switch it on or off.

The reception area looks nice and big. Our room is basic but clean. Public hot spring area is very big and full of facilities. Thoroughly enjoyed hot spring. Hotel doesn't provide coffee or tea in the room. Only green tea.
Just a reminder for those light sleepers - It can be a bit noisy as train can be heard every time it passes.

Located less than 5 minutes from the JR train station, the Manten hotel was perfect for us while exploring Kanazawa.

The room is small as you expect in Japan but unfortunately for us when the sun shone in the room was boiling and when it went in the room was freezing. I also felt quite itchy after using their body products so if your sensitive at all I highly recommend avoiding them.

Breakfast was quite average with only a specified serving per person (no buffet). We arrived 3 minutes late one moring and were turned away which, although we were the ones who were late, we could see food being thrown out so this was rather frustrating.

We stayed at that hotel for two nights, and frankly, it would have been difficult to spend one more. The staff is really nice and helpful (basic English available), but the rooms are TINY!!! Having lived in Japan for several years, I know Japanese guests will be more accustomed to what Kanazawa Manten offers in terms of comfort, but the North American travelers will find hard to find such Japanese hotel rooms actually comfortable.

Room Tip: Two Single Bed rooms tend to be more comfortable in Japanese hotels than Double Bed ones.

I stayed at Manten hotel for 2 nights in April with my family.

The rooms were extremely tiny and old while the beds were unconformable.

Biggest qualm was that the toilet which was also tiny smelled very bad.

This hotel is close to the rail station and bus terminal - so you are able to get where you need to go. it has a public bath for those who wish to experience it. The hotel has a set breakfast menu which is limiting. however, staff were helpful and able to assist in terms of information.

The rooms are clean , eventhough rather small. The hotel is very strategic located. A walking distance to the train station and a big mall too. The staff are helpfull . The restaurant serves nice dishes at a resonable price.
