During our vacation in Japan we wanted to try ryokan type of accommodation. We chose this one in Kanazawa although the price was basically two times higher than in luxury 5 star hotel in Osaka and Tokyo. This price included also dinner and breakfast so consequently we expected excellent quality and experience.
Room and service were fine, average quality I would say. However, the food was basically uneatable. During out two weeks in Japan we tried a lot of local food with no problem (local as well as Michelin star restaurants). This however was really terrible experience. I think that the main problem was the quality of ingredients (low quality fish etc.) If the cost of the stay was ten times lower it would be acceptable. But it was not the case, unfortunately.More
