Accommodation represents good value for money, the bedroom was clean and comfortable. Bikes available to ride into town were in good condition and though some staff had limited English they were friendly and keen to help.

It is a very reasonably-priced ryokan in a quiet area. It has a very nice large bath and clean modern toilets. It is just a little bit out of the way (15-20 minutes walk) for restaurants, train station etc.

Spent 2 nights here. The room and building were clean although the walls could probably do with a fresh coat of paint. Communal bathroom very clean. In the room there is an urn with continual hot water and green tea is supplied. There is also a small fridge. Wifi was excellent. Would recommend

Stayed here as a base to get to Tateyama alpine trail. About 15min walk from matzukaze station, 1 station from nagano station

Sinilar to other ryokans with tiny rooms and shared bathroom, but more basic in that they don't provide meals

Very old but for 2 nights at USD35 per night, tolerable

Room was comfortable & staff repaired broken door lock quickly. Set up overall a little quirky but fine for a one or two night stay. A 15 min walk to centre of town, 25 to Black Crow Castle. Reception helpfully made a reservation for us for dinner out.
