We had 3 meal and stayed 1 night there. The welcome service, meal and the hot spring there is great. You can enjoy outdoor hot spring and also stay in your room for your private semi outdoor hot spring. The view from the room is tranquility with the Japanese garden. We booked Japanese dinner, Japanese breakfast and French lunch after check-out. If you have a chance to visit here, you'll definitely enjoy a smooth holiday without all the daily huzzle and buzzle.

We were in Tokyo for business and decided to go "off the beaten path" for a weekend. This was a lovely get-away and a great opportunity to experience traditional Japanese hospitality.

From the moment you arrive, you feel calm and relaxed. We were greeted with green tea in the lobby as someone parked our car outside our unit and someone else oriented us to the hotel. Welcome champagne was served in the hotel, although we could have also indulged in the goodies found in our room and mini bar. We were the only westerners there, and so the staff kindly ensured we knew how things work at a ryokan.

Our room was stunning -- a private onsen on the patio with a lush garden for a view. The shower and bathroom was state of the art with every possible amenity provided. Comfortable yukatas were available for us to wear to meals and while we relaxed in the room.

Breakfasts in the French Room were unlike anything we've ever experienced. With the French moniker, we expected hard baguettes and coffee. Instead, there were crisp, fresh veggies, gorgeous fruits, eggs prepared to order, tropical fruit assortments, flaky croissants, yogurt with all the trimmings, and even a honeycomb that slowly dripped fresh honey into a bowl. Dinner in the French Room was equally amazing. A traditional kaiseki-style dinner was served in the Japanese restaurant, and it was also a treat.

We would highly recommend this experience! It is definitely high end (with a high end price tag!) but with so much included, it is well worth the splurge.

Room Tip: For a couples getaway, the private onsen on the porch is the way to go.

As a couple from Switzerland traveling around Japan for two weeks, we booked 2 nights for a regular room at ABBA Resort before flying back to Europe. We had one of our best hospitality experience ever! Everything was perfect: front desk, room service, bath facilities, restaurants, ... The staff is very gentle and takes care about all the details to make sure that you have a perfect stay in this luxury Ryokan Honsen. The Japanese restaurant experience (10 course menu) in the private room with friendly and dedicated service was fantastic. The "top of the top" was the exquisite 10 course "French/Japanese fusion menu" at their French restaurant. In our opinion this restaurant tops many Michelin stars restaurants in Europe.

Like all Japanese Inns of this price range nothing is left to be desired. Excellent service, the room was spacious (we stayed in one with an open bath air), clean, modern room. Great WIFI service. Nice and complete toiletries. Minibar, although minimal (beer, juice water and nuts) is for free.
The inn also has 2 public baths which are beautiful and also have private bath with a wonderful view of the sea.
The inn has 2 restaurants - Japanese and French - DELICIOUS. Be prepared to eat a lot of good food; especially seafood (this area is famous for this).
Just somethings to note, like most traditional Japanese inns, English language speaking staff is limited; although there is a nice big flat screen TV in the room, there are no English channels.

Room Tip: Choose the room with the open air bath; if you can afford it go for the villas which has a private pool

The Japanese food you will be using a fresh fish and many vegetables of the season.

We are right studying now to be able to speak English well.

Vegan tenppanyaki and French food was so delicious. Ingredients are from the local farmers market, fresh and sweet, you can really taste the original flavor of the vegetables. It's a must try option when you come for a one night stay!
