“Jeans, denim items and all made in Japan”

Kojima Jeans Street
Reviewed February 4, 2018

If you are into cool denim, or would like some fun, rare, unique clothes or items then this is a nice place for you. Unless you are crazy about jeans it might not be worth a trip on its own to Kurashiki, but since it is located in the Bikan area which is fantastic it is convenient to stroll through here

Japan has its own denim industry and has had so for quite a while. Edwin is one of the familiar world wide brands and it all came from Kojima. Buy your denim colored ice cream, buy a jeans book, or a jeans bag.

This place worths visit only if you are denim fan or you would like to purchase japanese denim. We visited on Thursday and despite the fact that it was public holiday the place was pretty empty. Most of the shops selling denims are open ( those you can see on map you can pick on street), but there are many little shops that probably sell little souvenires and refreshments and those were all closed ( they open only on weekend). Prices start at 12000jpy but if you are more of western size, your selection will be pretty limited to Momotaro, Japan Blue or Betty Smith (both around 25000jpy). Also we had a strange feeling that some SA don't want to or don't know how to assist you - they won't even say hello and just keep staring or just ignore you (I am half japanese and I speak fluent Japanese ).
Jeans street is easily walkable distance from Kojima station ( 10-15min) but if you want to visit Betty Smith area, you'll have to take taxi or bus.

This is a best place to shop for japanese denim. All the popular brands are all in here. And for jeans lovers to come here, it is all worth it. The town is quite chillax, so enjoy the walk along the jeans street. Don't be hasty when come to buying jeans there, there is alot of selection.

The more popular brands are momotaro and japan blue.

If you are tired from all the walking, there is a cafe car neighbor coffee company. They serve very good coffee and donuts!

It's interesting but don't prioritize it unless you want to buy Kojima jeans/jean products. They're pretty expensive.
