We visited Isuien shortyl before it closed. It was a rainy day, there were not many people in the garden, probably because the entry fee was on the higher side. Totally worth it tough, the garden is amazing and very well maintained.
One of my favourite gardens in Japan.

One of the most beautiful and peaceful gardens I’ve seen after Kyoto... very impressive places to discover. I would highly suggest everyone to enjoy the nature there.. a must see garden in Nara!

The entry fee to this garden is 900 yen. It entitles you to a free guided tour of the garden as well as entry to the museum. Some people might shun away because of the cost of the entry fee, however, I do feel that this place is a must do in Nara. The garden is so beautiful and tranquil. There is also a restaurant inside. Just sitting there and having a cup of Ocha admiring the scenery is in itself a relaxing activity. It is also walkable distance from
Nara Deer Park.

I loved these gardens - really peacful and very well kept, it is a bit pricey but they offer free tours of the garden which are done by volunteers who are very well informed about the whole area. If you want somewhere to get social media pictures or family snaps then this place is ideal.

The gardens were pleasant but much smaller than I was expecting. Also the museum was also small and not very interesting especially for non-Japanese speakers. At ¥900, I thought it was very expensive especially compared to the other main sights in Nara.
