This hotel was very large, clean and comfortable. My room had a stunning view looking over the ocean where you could enjoy the sunset.

The tradition Japanese was mouth-watering with fresh seafood like abalone and crab. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.

Top traditional Japanese cuisine covering everything. In particular we loved the simmered abalone in a thick sauce. The sushi rice was very traditional meaning the rice was already slightly fermenting, the way it was supposed to be for the rice to conserve the raw fish.
The view from the onsen is fantastic.
The Japanese style rooms are huge and good for 4 adults.
The hotel is probably 20 years old but top maintained.
Nice evening entertainment with taiko drums and shamisen (Japanese guitar). No crap but top artists.
Excellent traditional stay.

Stayed there for conference. Tranditional and modern hotel on the bay. Great ocean view from spacious clean japanese style room was impressive. Public bath on 9th fl.was calm and has a spectacular ocean view. Breakfast was great in quality and selections. One drawback is convient store is a bit away from hotel (15min walk). Highly recommended for family vacation.

Hotel Kaisenkaku was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Service was very good throughout. The tatami mat room was plenty large. It contained free wifi Internet and a sufficient number of electric outlets. Big windows (which could be opened for fresh air) afforded a great westward-looking view of Mutsu Bay.

The public baths on the top (ninth) floor were clean, modern, and pleasant. There were two interior baths, one warmer than the other, and a small outside bath (rotenburo). They were enjoyable.

Our accommodation plan included dinner and breakfast. Dinner was a multicourse kyseki-style meal which happily (and not at all surprisingly, considering the property's location on Mutsu Bay) featured fresh scallops. Locally-produced sake was a nice touch, too. The buffet-format breakfast (scallops here too!) was tasty and a step above ordinary.

I enjoyed the free nighttime shamisen concert in the hotel lobby, in which a local musician masterfully and beautifully performed traditional music on his special three-stringed plucked Japanese instrument.

The per person tariff for lodging and two meals was ¥15000, which seemed very reasonable. I recommend it to those staying overnight in the vicinity of Aomori City (especially if you are driving a car...because Asamushi Onsen is about 10km from the center of Aomori),

Room Tip: Bay-facing room (which they all may be, anyway) on a high floor.
