We stayed here 2 nights while on safari. It is the closest camp to the park gates. The facilities were very pretty. Bit dark at night, but on a generator. The tent was large , pretty furnishings and nice huge bathroom. Hot water was a plus. I had a problem with lights first night and they sent someone right over to fix it. No problem, The food was good. Coffee very good. I had a massage one afternoon in a little tent out by the pool. It was very good and setting was so nice. I would recommend this.
Baboons did play around back of tent one night.

Room Tip: Any tent would be fine.

A little dated and a little sad when you first walk in.
But the tents are spacious, immaculate, and comfortable. They are also spaced far apart, so you have privacy in spite of the fact that you don't have real walls. The bathrooms are huge, with double sinks, dressing table, stall shower, toilet, and bidet. Yes, bidet, because who wants to go on safari without one?
The camp is located right near the entrance gate of Amboseli, so that's a great time-saver. Beautiful swimming pool, the nicest one we saw in two weeks in East Africa.
Food is not great, but certainly ok, The coffee needs help.
I'd stay here again.

The lodge is situated just 100 mtrs. from the gate outside Amboseli. It is part of the Mada Hotels. The lodge consists of a couple of safari tents with a fabulous view on mount kilimanjaro. The safari tents are spacious with safari style furniture and annex enlarged bathroom. After the safari you can chill out on the veranda in front of your tent. There is a huge swimmingpool with bar. The restaurant (near the reception) is relatively big, but cosy. In the centre of the restaurant is a 3-storey high tower with a marvelous view of the park and the mountain. Just a perfect location for the first coffee in the morning before you start a safari. The food is good with a lunch menu and breakfast and dinner buffet. Before and after the dinner you can enjoy a drink in the luxury bar next to the restaurant. The prices for the drinks are normal. The staff is really friendly and always present to assist you. I really can recommend this lodge as a starting point for a safari in beautiful Amboseli Park.

Stop by and grab a cold beer on the 3rd floor Observation Deck at sunset. Look out across Amboseli National Park and out toward Mt. Kilimanjaro. A great, relaxing view. A memorable vista and experience.

Had a wonderful stay at Kilima Lodge between December 10-12. The tented cottages are well appointed in furnishings and fittings. The view of Mt. Kilimanjaro from the cottage was breathtaking when she was not being shy and hidden in clouds.
The staff were courteous and made us feel comfortable at the location. Plan to return soon.
