Had dinner at Le Galet yesterday evening. This is a venue I frequent with relative frequency given the quality of the restaurant. As always, dining there was a pleasurable experience. We ordered the usual side dishes to accompany the fish (i.e. stuffed grape leaves, tabbouleh, shrimps cooked in oil, garlic and chilli) and the restaurant offers a complementary dish of assorted fresh vegetables. As usual, these dishes were all tasty and particular attention was made to the presentation. We ordered Sultan Ibrahim (red snapper) for the fish and I specifically requested small fish (the rule of thumb with Sultan is that the smaller they are the tastier). The fish as usual was very fresh. The waiters were as always polite, helpful and attentive. The restaurant also offers complementary fruits and sweets post the meal. I am a frequent restaurant patron in Lebanon as I dine out on a regular basis and I can honestly state that I have dined at many seafood restaurants in the country. Le galet is the best value for money restaurant. While one can have a comparable meal at better known restaurants such as Chez Sami, the bill will be twice what it is at Le Galet for an equal experience.
