Had dinner at Le Galet yesterday evening. This is a venue I frequent with relative frequency given the quality of the restaurant. As always, dining there was a pleasurable experience. We ordered the usual side dishes to accompany the fish (i.e. stuffed grape leaves, tabbouleh, shrimps cooked in oil, garlic and chilli) and the restaurant offers a complementary dish of assorted fresh vegetables. As usual, these dishes were all tasty and particular attention was made to the presentation. We ordered Sultan Ibrahim (red snapper) for the fish and I specifically requested small fish (the rule of thumb with Sultan is that the smaller they are the tastier). The fish as usual was very fresh. The waiters were as always polite, helpful and attentive. The restaurant also offers complementary fruits and sweets post the meal. I am a frequent restaurant patron in Lebanon as I dine out on a regular basis and I can honestly state that I have dined at many seafood restaurants in the country. Le galet is the best value for money restaurant. While one can have a comparable meal at better known restaurants such as Chez Sami, the bill will be twice what it is at Le Galet for an equal experience.

Le Galet is a little gem hidden in the coastal village of Tabarja just north of Jounieh. Finding it is not very easy, but you can see more and more signs as you get nearer.
The restaurant is hidden behind a small building, but once we got there, we were surprised by the refreshing blue ambiance and the amazing view on the small bay.
We were welcomed by Ziad (the owner) and he even gave us a tour of the kitchens and of course, the racks where you can find all kind of seafood. The menu is a mix of traditional Lebanese cuisine and Mediterranean cuisine. When we visited, Ziad told us that he will start making sushi in the future.
The food was fresh and fantastic and everything we ordered tasted homemade. The strong dedication of the owner is, in my opinion, why this place is so successful. You can feel his obvious enthusiasm and hospitality. He even mentioned that he drives north to Tripoli everyday to handpick the catch of the day.
All in all, I can't think of a better seafood restaurant in Lebanon and I will definitely be back.

Honestly, i didn't expect to eat that good.
Le Galet, a new fish restaurant around Tabarja, next to the municipality, is a cozy place directly on the water shores.
The first impression was a bit awkward, a small passage, next to old houses, leading you to the restaurant.
Reaching there, you discover very nice calm blue colors, decorated by some funky pillows, a large aquarium, adequate lighting and nice table ware.
We ate, very very good. No Garlic, No onions in all main dishes and that is a sign of perfection: adding Garlic to all dishes masks the real taste of food.
All plates are fresh, crunchy when applicable, hot when needed, spicy when asked for, cold when the tradition imposes it.
In couple of words, Le Galet is a cozy place, away from the trendy crowded restaurants in town, and where the for is delicious.

The staff needs a little bit of professional know how but that is not a main problem.
