Beautiful hotel, awesome customer service everywhere (we were given complimentary fruit platter & free upgrade to apartment suite on the 3rd floor) & such nice sweet receptionists during our stay during the 1st week of March from Los Angeles, California. Spacious & clean, comfortable bed & pillows, great waterslides too!
In the beautiful pool/waterslide area, there is a great free show of live performers doing Fire-breathing, fire-spinning, & traditional Malaysian dances with live singing
every Wednesday, Friday,
&
Saturday night starting around 9pm that is shouldn't be missed if you're in Malaysia --Highly recommended! Then dancers, fire-breathers, & live singer do a great job of making the Aseania unforgettable!
The hotel is at the end of the main street so lots of nearby restaurants, stores, markets, & the beach is just a few minutes away by foot.
You can go parasailing & jetskiing for about $15 per person at the nearby beaches (those excursion prices are negotiable) so it's great to be nearby so many things to do & see like UnderwaterWorld (or take a $10 taxi to the can't-miss-it Cable Car)
Great restaurants to try nearby are Wakaba, Orchid & Happy Happy Seafood as well as try the Malaysian crepes "roti" nearby.
Make sure to try the longans & yellow lily mangoes as well as the sweet Thailand coconut water sold at the nearby fresh fruit market since the Malaysian coconut water isn't sweet &
I'm a bit of a hobbyist chef & the only thing that needs improvement is that the pineapple & melon at the hotel buffet breakfasts/dinner be sweeter (the fruit did't seem ripe enough, tasted plain as if they weren't yet ripe)
&
would recommend to serve the delicious longans, rambutans, & lychees cold (chilled on ice or ice in the dish/syrup) to make them taste better since that is how they are served in most Asian restaurants.
I would reommend the pineapple & melons also to be served on dishes on ice also to keep them cold to enhance their taste, especially on the hot days/mornings.
(the BBQ shrimp seemed overcooked--better to cook them to order on the grill or in smaller batches to keep them fresher)
Aside from that, overall, Aseania is an excellent hotel to stay at & would stay here again :)
