Convenient location in Georgetown. There are kopitiams nearby which serve morning hawker food.
This is a smoking hotel. Not recommended if you are a non smoker or asthmatic or have any respiratory ailment.
My room was badly stenched with cigarette smell.
Lots of noise from the night clubs so you may prefer to stay in the higher floors.
Excellent chambermaid service.
It was a plus to have a fridge in the room to keep my beer cold !
I walked to 1st Avenue and Prangin Mall for my shopping.
Would have preferred shower with hose rather than overhead shower.

This hotel is on the corner of Penang Road. The room is OK but the shower is not so good. The breakfast buffet is quite bad, less variety of food and taste bad. Find your breakfast outside is better. The staff is friendly and helpful. From the hotel you can walk to local market in 10 minutes and to Komtar in 15 minutes.
The Red garden chinese food bazaar is very close to this hotel. You can find lots of international food in the evening if you don't prefer Malysian and Indian food. The bus stop and taxi stand is in front of the Red Garden food bazaar.

Good hotel, worth the price. Staff are helpful and don't take long to check in. The disadvantage is that there is much nightlife around the hotel which makes it noisy. Wifi at a fair price. For some reason the TV Remote was connected to the bedside table.

We have just spent 10 at the Hotel Continental. Excellent room, clean and large, with fridge and tea/coffee making kit. Fantastic sea view on our room on the 17th floor. Staff friendly and helpful, and to top that it is in a great location for the sights and food.
Only down side will be if you are a light sleep, because sea view rooms overlook a street of bars/clubs with do not finish until 3am.

This budget hotel was well located - around 400m from the luxury E&O Hotel - at a 10th of the price!

The rooms were basic but clean and bright. We were offered a sea-view room but were warned that we may hear some noise from the nearby night-life but up on the 12th floor we barely heard a thing!

The rate included a buffet breakfast which wasn't anything special but was more than we expected for such a low room rate.

Most of the occupants of the hotel seemed to be domestic tourists on package holidays and as New Zealanders we were quite a novelty to many of the guests!

The pool was a real bonus for this price and being on the 6th floor it had great views over Georgetown. We used the pool at least twice every day but on most occasions had this completely to ourselves.

Just a few metres from the Hotel is the Red Garden Food Hawker Centre which had some great options for evening meals.

The only downsides to this hotel were no internet (they did offer wireless but it was over priced) and the bed was extremely hard - though we know this is not uncommon in hotels that cater more for the local market.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view room on one of the higher levels

If you are on a budget and the luxury you cant afford so much then this is the hotel to be. The rooms are clean, good bathroom. If you read people writing the room is bad and all not true. For the price i think the best maybe. They have a swimming pool in 6th floor, the morning buffet is included in the room price(buffet not bad). The only thing that i felt wrong was that i needed to buy wifi. Staff are cool. Near to market and food joints. Would recemmond all day long.
