We arranged to meet family in Georgetown, and booked two weeks at the Yeng Keng
The plus was the location on Chulia Street, and the Pool. The Hotel has lots of character, the rooms are well maintained. We were at the rear of the hotel which is much quieter. The staff were brilliant, looked after us really well, including introducing us to Grab( cheaper than Taxis), and helping us with ideas for expeditions to the mainland( Orang Utan Reserve, etc)

It is a renovated mansion and really lovely. I loved the architectural details.
The rooms are on the small side though I have no idea how big the suites are.
There is a small swimming pool which can be refreshing after a long day walk.
The staff is polite, friendly and helpful.
The breakfast selection is limited but everything is fresh and delicious plus they also serve local delicacies, it is indeed a nice touch.
The location is perfect, right in the middle of Georgetown, everywhere is walking distance so it is a great base to discover the quaint streets and famous murals.

Staff lovely, location wonderful, hotel restaurant superb, especially for local specialties (and these are world famous -- e.g. Nyonya cuisine.) Only drawback, and it would be serious for some and irrelevant for others, is the glacial slowness of the wifi -- really only usable for anything other than short emails at 4 in the morning, and even then slow. This, unfortunately, is typical for most hotels in Malaysia short of 5 stars.

A lovely, clean and tranquil place with an excellent manageress who went out of her wat to inform and help us. She is worth her weight in gold! The hotel has been renovated to a very high standard and the location is close to everything of interest. The breakfast is varied and five star.
