Dated hotel but worth the price when compared to other newer ones along Gurney Drive or downtown. Family still enjoys full hotel facilities including good rubdown at the spa for the wife. Plenty of parking space if you are on a roadtrip. Rooms are decent with big king size bed fit for 3 + 1 (with extra bed). Service is decent but could use more smile. Location on Gurney makes it easy access to the infamous street hawkers and the 2 large malls. Short drive out to centre of Georgetown for main attractions. Hotel still provide decent meals at its restaurants; promoting nyonya cuisine when we were there. Older doesn't mean bad; just need more appreciation.

The hotel is a great deal for the price. I suspect it was top of the list not long ago. Now things look a little dated. Also, some of the common areas need repairs (there are leaks and buckets in the gym). The rooms are in great shape and are spacious and clean. The amenities (laundry, breakfast, pool, shuttle service to work) are fantastic. The staff is nice. The location is good -- a walk to the Gurney malls or hawker center is 15 minutes, and there are many other food options in that stretch. The trips back from the free trade district after work can be lengthy (up to an hour). All in all, this is an excellent choice.

This is an ok hotel - good location, spacious rooms and very friendly service. It has a good gym and pool and a good business centre and all the required amenities in the bedroom. However Internet is slow and the band in the lobby lounge is excessively noisy - no chance of a quiet drink. All in all an ok hotel but as others said a bit dated. However the room rate is very reasonable.

Room Tip: Get a sea view

Our family of 5 stayed in 2 rooms. The price is very reasonable as it included sea facing rooms, one extra bed and daily breakfasts. Gurney Plaza, Gurney Paragon and Gurney night hawker street are all 10-15 mins walk away depending on your walking speed. The rooms decor are dated but overall cleanliness and quality are decent. Complimentary fruits, can drinks and mineral water are available in the room everyday. Worth it.

I staid at this hotel for 3 nights. The location is perfect, just next to the sea and on Gurney Drive. I would advise everybody to ask for suits with sea view. It is marvelous! I had an alarm every morning for 7 am just to enjoy the view of rising sun. The hotel is just walking distance from big shopping malls. It is a bit outdated, meaning the furniture and interior are quiet old for 5 stars hotel. Minuses: famous plate with apples - I think my room was not checked-in before for too long so the apples were...old, bathroom wasn't very clean, but breakfast and dinners offered every evening were great. OH, for business people like myself: internet connection in hotel was terrible, especially at one of the nights when a big group of people checked-in

Room Tip: Sea view room
