Owner description: An ancient trade route with remains of the caravan oasis and trading ports.

It basically has 2 parts. One the internal knowlage about the ships history. (Photography not allowed there)
Other is the external urban architecture land.

It's so huge walking all the way will be just too much. So you can get a ride for 5 OR which will take u around the whole space.

Note-
Nearby there are coconut and banana stalls - make sure u try that before visiting this

It is interesting to see how the tree grows and how they harvest the frankincense. The views through the mountains and windy roads are fantastic. Camels abound, very friendly and clean!

I loved Oman and hope to return for a longer trip. I travelled by long distance bus and hired a car in Salalah.

We know of frankincense from the Christmas story, of the wise men who came from the east, bearing gifts .... but not much more. The history, and the production are really interesting.

This is another place in Salalah which can be skipped if we have visited the Museum of Frankincense land. Apart from few more trees in a bigger location, there is nothing special about this place. I suggest not to plan for this place but see only if there is abundant time.
