My daughter and I stayed for 5 days beginning December 29, 2012. We stayed the first night in the tree house! We were a little nervous because of the bad reviews on this site, but they were wrong. Definitely worth the money and it was the high light of our trip. It was cozy and nice. The beds were comfortable and yes there is toliet in the tree house. We had 2 bottles of wine and sodas waiting for us. We could here birds and monkeys - amazing! At all times we felt safe. We were served breakfast on the tower and got to have a private canopy tour that morning. I simply can't describe how amazing the tree house experience was.

We had Sonia as our guide for all 5 days. She was great and shared so much with us. Her English was incredible and she made this trip for us. We love Sonia! We saw 3 kinds of monkeys, a pair of Macaws, Caymens, all kinds of birds, ant cutters, walking palms, medicinal plants, and a large snake. We wished we had one more day with Sonia taking us on another adventure!

Our room at the Eco lodge was very nice and we enjoyed the hammocks. The staff was so attentive and helpful. The food was excellent but too much - we never could finish it all. I would describe our stay as a plush Eco lodge but if you are looking for television and air conditioning then this may not be for you. If you are looking for a place to unplug and be with nature then this is amazing.

Room Tip: Tree house, tree house, tree house!!!!

We stayed at Inkaterra for four days and three nights in May of 2012. The accommodations were very comfortable, considering the location in the jungle. The several days went very well. The excursions were informative, though we were somewhat disappointed with the lack of enthusiasm of our guide on occasion. On our last day we were combined with a large group with several unruly children (we previously were alone on our excursions), which severely decreased our enjoyment. We were then left, unexpectedly, on Monkey Island, with no explanation as to why we were not picked up in a timely manner. When we became agitated and confronted the guide, we were picked up by a boat that then ran out of gas in the middle of the river. The last 24 hours certainly left a poor impression. Overall, our experience was positive and we would consider returning, but we would certainly request another guide. Also, it might be worthwhile spending more time at the lodge, enjoying the jungle, as opposed to some of the less-interesting excursions (which appear more geared towards keeping guests "busy" than anything i.e., pirana fishing). We were not given a choice in the excursions.

Very clean and a wonderful Amazon experience. It is an Eco-lodge so there are lots of candles and not much electricity. Really enjoyed the tours at night too. I would recommend at least two nights. We had three and it was relaxing to have two full days of hiking and boating. We were here in January the rainy season, but had perfect weather. There is no air conditioning so I would be concerned during the high heat and humidity months. We stayed at all three Inkaterra resorts also in Cusco and Machu Picchu and would recommend them all. Not over the top luxury here, but adequate. Ask for Anabel for touring, she was AWESOME!!! All tours are included.

Took our 4 kids - loved the rooms, wonderful naturalists, great food. Neat excursions with terrific service. Loved it! Boat ride from Puerto Maldonado lets you know that you are really entering an adventure. Made fast friends during activities. Wait staff got to know us immediately and addressed allergy needs with special care.

From the moment we landed and were transferred to the Butterfly House for orientation , we realized that they run a
Slick operation. Naturally one is trepid about
The jungle , safety and comfort but they virtually took care of everything.
The service levels are exceptional , the
Guides are well informed . The whole setting
Is wonderful . We did 3 excursions
The night tour and lake Sandoval were
Brilliant.
The only thing is don't go with the expectation of seing loads of animals , snakes etc , we saw much more in Africa
Overall though the luxury jungle experience
Was well worth it !
