It's not Machu Picchu but well worth the visit. We went with a tour led by Alfredo Rios of Trujillo Del Peru Tours. He was a great guy, well informed and very personable. We had a small group of 16 on a larger bus and it was the perfect size. Started with the museum as a background then visited the pyramids and Chan Chan. A brief stop to see the "reed boats" was the only disappointment. The beach was very busy with locals but they were having a great time. Tour was excellent and would highly recommend them! Nothing boring about it!!

It was more fun catching a collectivo to the site than the actual site.

The museum that was there was okay and informative, but the rest of the place was not worth it.

This is me writing 100 characters to meet trip advisors guidelines...

Beautiful setting. Fascinating because you can really see how the Moche civilization worked. There are some new restorations which you can ask the guide to show you is you enjoy this (if it looks like you didn't see everything just ask). Good museum attached

Quite surprised at the extensive ruins. The design work on the walls is quite unique. Culture was really into "killing people". Had a hairless dog escort us - first one i had ever seen. Massice excavation project - will go on for many more years. Worth taking the time to see.

An exciting place, full of historic spirit. No rebuilding, restoration only! Great opportunity to see the life and culture of pre-Columbian Peru. Guided tours are the only way to see the whole temple.
