In the centre of the town. Cheapest price in the middle of the town. Decent breakfast. Communist architecture. Easy acces to the main attractions. Direct acces by bus to airport and train station. You can pay with credit card.

This hotel was recommended by the local organizers in Cluj, and indeed it is a great location, bang in the centre of the city, and reasonably cheap for the area. It's frankly dishonest to call themselves a 3* hotel however, since apart from having en suite bathrooms they do nothing else to deserve more than 1*. They advertise free wifi: it never worked for me in my room or any of the lobbies for my entire 4 day stay. Breakfast is included: it was terrible, stale bread, lukewarm tea, unsanitary cold meats, no fresh food. The room was not very comfortable (definitely 2* quality), the bathroom not clean (and not CLEANED—staff replaced towel every day, but nothing else). The hot water stopped working for about 24 hours. Worst of all, the desk staff were completely dismissive (to the point of being rude and even dishonest) when any of these complaints were mentioned. I would not use again. What a hole.

Staying at the Victoria was a dreadful experience. The staff was unhelpful and sometimes I doubted they understood any English. Each time we said there was a problem, they would just shrug and do nothing about it. The rooms are old and look unattractive, but that is the least of the problems. It was very noisy, I saw a few bugs running around, one day we didn't have hot water. The breakfast was unimpressive, and basically non existing if you are vegetarian. I couldn't even make a cup of tea, as the water was barely lukewarm. Will definitely avoid in the future.

If you plan on spending more than a night in this hotel, then you'd better think again. It posesses only one quality: it's situated in the very heart of the city. Everything you would need to see is within walking distance. You have lots of restaurants and nightlife spots all around the hotel.

But the hotel is in bad need of a total makeover. The carpets are so old that they simpy can't be clean anymore. The furniture, although seemingly younger than the carpets, is also quite ancient. My guess is early 2000's. TV's are old and small. The bathroom is quite clean, but also very old.

I've stayed at this hotel many times as my employer has a deal with it, but for one night only. There was one time where I had to spend three nights there and it was a nightmare. Twin beds are very small, matresses are old and lumpy. I've only eaten breakfast once and it's below average for a 3 star hotel, but it's edible. Whatever you do, don't try the coffee. It's poison.

Room tip: Old. Not vintage. Just plain old. Too old.

The lobby gives the impression of being modern. However, the rest of the hotel is dated and tired. Staff try to be helpful. The room was cleanish; it took ages to get hot water in the bathroom. The breakfast was awful; the tea and coffee unbelievably bad. A guide on the free walking tour said that it was was of the few hotels that accepted pets! The lobby bar was not functioning. We arrived back one evening at 8.45 and wanted a drink. We were told to try the restaurant (where there is a small bar); the waiter jsut said: sorry; we close at 9. Would not recommend this hotel.

Well located with a cheap price and clean rooms. Breakfast was included but could have been much better. The bed was small but comfortable. Our room looked in and not towards the road. There was no view. The rooms do not have a safe and are basic. However, the shower was hot and powerful. The public areas were all tidy and staff were helpful and friendly to us.
