Modest hotel, but big prices for accomodation. Dirty bathroom, with spyders on the walls. For sure this hotel need a renovation. Close to a noisy crossroads. Good breakfast, nice staff, only public parking place available.

Changes seems to have been made in staff, but issues remain unmastered - same unattended bathroom repairs, understaffed breakfast/restaurant. Also WiFi seems to take strong hits with fully booked hotel, making it more or less unusable. Reception price is way above the two stars that it should have.

We had to unexpectedly spend a day in Cluj, and the hotel we usually stay at was booked full. We were happy to find a room available at the Seven Hotel (music festival in town). The rooms are somewhat dated and furnishing worn, but clean. Breakfast (very good), and Wifi included (good), and also included air conditioning (good- most hotels charge extra for air conditioning) . Near the train station (1 km), and city center (2 km). This hotel is an excellent value for the money, if you are a thrifty traveller. Taxi from the Cluj airport to the hotel will cost you about 35 RON ($9 USD).
Staff is very helpful, and the front desk speaks English.
I agree with others: comfortable, good location, and excellent value.
Room tip: This hotel has no elevator (most do not, unless American style and very expensive). Not an issue for us, but be aware.

The Seven is located almost midway between the railway station and Cluj city centre, both an easy walk or a quick, cheap taxi ride (and there are always taxis waiting across the street). The building is clean, airy and modern and the staff are friendly, English speaking and helpful. Situation is calm and quiet, rooms large and comfortable. A restaurant and bar are attached, lots of good local cuisine available. An excellent place to stay.

I had booked elsewhere but as they were overbooked, I was taken to the Hotel Seven.
They honoured the price I should have paid and arranged a meal and drinks in the restaurant, even though it should have just shut.
Nice clean room with good WiFi.
Buffet breakfast in the morning with plenty of coffee.

The hotel is about 10 minutes walk uphill from the Train Station. The city centre is about 15 minutes easy walk from the hotel. It's in a very quiet, residential area (opposite the cemetery).
The rooms are very modern, clean, large and quiet. There is a very smoky bar attached to the hotel.
The reception staff were professional and friendly. The price of the rooms was extremely reasonable.
The breakfast was the only disappointment. Dishes, when empty, weren't replenished. But this was a minor issue - there's plenty of places outside to get more food if you want it.
Overall a good location, comfortable and well-priced hotel. I would definitely stay again.
