Many cities of Russia, not to mention the world as a whole, have its Victory square. Victory square in Moscow in this sense is quite ordinary, but strikes with its Metropolitan scale, although formally all this space mainly belongs to the Victory Park, and the square itself is only a small strip between two divorced lanes. It has a triumphal arch - a copy of the one that stood before the Belarussky railway station and was dedicated to the victory in the Patriotic war of 1812. And in the Victory park, with which it is perceived as a whole, there is a church, fountains, an exhibition of military equipment, a Museum of Holocaust victims, monuments, the Tomb of the Unknown soldier with Eternal flame.
The usual parad square.

This is a very beautiful square in large well maintained gardens with fountains and houses poignant sculptures and monuments. There is also a small quaint church there with golden globes and stunning inside.

The monuments are awe inspiring and the museum is great too. Should spend 2-3 hours, the museum has war scenes depicted in a very realistic manner. It is also a lesson in History and patriotism.

Victory Square is beautifully designed to be a memorial to the Great Patriotic War. There are beautiful fountains, sculptures and a museum. At one end of the square is a obelisk that measures 150 meters high. This square is outside most of the attractions in Moscow (Red Square and the Kremlin) but is well worth a visit.

Very large square in front of Victory Park, yet almost not big enough for all the people coming for Victory Day firework.
Amazing site.

It's an amazing and vast place, including in itself the large park and square, labelled with the name of "Victory". All here, we had perceived was, still is and will be forever with the very important significance, for the russian people, for the foreigners also. In every location of the park and the square, there is something, that recalls You at the most tough and heavy moments of five years long patriotic war.
The long central avenue that runs through the park, is named "Years of War" and has the five terraces symbolizing the five years of conflict. There are also the 1418 fountains - one for every day. Going by memorial chapel, mosque and synagogue, You get to the circular Victors' Place with the triangular obelisk, rising 150 meters above the ground, that is topped with the statue of Nike, the Goddess of Victory.
Behind is situated the crescent -shaped Museum of the Great Patriotic War, in which we had seen the paintings of the battles, of the Reichstag walls with writings of Soviet soldiers on it.
Impressive site, for long remembrance !

When I reached the Victory Square I couldn't believe my eyes. It was a snowy day and everything was covered in snow, which made the scene all the more dramatic. It was a long walk from the beginning of the Square to the tall monument at the end of it. And there were fountains, as well as wall monuments on each side depicting a part of the story from WWII from the beginning till the end at the tower which is another story on it's own! What a fantastic journey, you will travel through time. If you are in Moscow it's a must visit!

If you are a person who like history, it's one of the places that you should visit in Moscow. It's a huge square and park that you can easily spend around 3 hours without visiting the museum. Go and take amazing pictures. Really recommend it but not on a rainy day.

We spent 3 hours at the grounds and the museum but really we needed all day. the grounds are fascinating and the museum is by far the most outstanding we have ever visited. The sheer details to all the items in the museum are next to none! A must if you go to Moscow.

Visit with a guide if you want to learn more about Russia and WW2. A great place to walk and enjoy a quiet afternoon.
