Had no idea what to expect and was amazed. Buildings and churches are beautiful and artwork, displays and jewelry were amazing.

It was a nice day so we got great photos.

Lots of walking so wear comfortable shoes. Allow at least two hours.

The Kremlin is nothing like you'd expect from the outside. The outside suggests that the inside is crowded. It's not with a large open parkland and parking areas. The main attraction are the churches clustering around Cathedral Square. Actually the Square is huge. We paid on our tour to visit the Armoury and rather wish we had had more time with the Cathedrals especially as much of what is in the Armoury can be seen elsewhere unless there's a specific piece you want to see.

The Kremlin is easy to visit as an independent traveller but to speed entry purchase entries on line.

A must see place.

I was expecting once I go to Kremlin to visit a palace. But it seems there palaces in that area are only dedicated to the governors and no public visitor can enter to them.

In this case, you have the opportunity to walk in the area (probably some governors passing by their luxury cars) and visit the for churches in the main spare.

There are also a very big (broken) bell and a canon which are 2 attractions of this palace.

Everything - the walls and the towers (see my other review), the churches and the cathedrals, the museums, the Tsar-Cannon and the Tsar-Bell - is a masterpiece in its own right. Some places house Russian government facilities and are closed to the public, but apparently plans are underway to change that. The recent demolition of a Soviet-era building near the Spasskaya tower has resulted in pretty nice views of the rear of the tower and the surrounding buildings. The only foreign object is the Kremlin Palace from the Khrushchev era.

You will need to deposit large bags and backpacks at the storage facility near the entrance at the Kutafya tower. Please note that you exit at the Spasskaya tower, which is a bit of a walk.

Please don't visit the Kremlin without a guide. There is so much to know about all the beautiful historical Palaces, Churches, Cathedral and objects, that it would be a pity not to be informed about them. Plan at least a half day to spent there.
