From Dhaka, Bangladesh to LA, USA - we broke journey at Guangzhou. After two days at Guangzhou, we took the fast train to Guilin which is primarily a tourist city and we stayed at the "best" room, nay suite of this hotel - Room 768 on the top floor with the mind blowing view of the River Li with the 3 mountains in the background. It's a huge 3 room suite with two bathrooms a big living area with flat screen TV and a comfortable dining space ! Highly recommended with an excellent location.
Pity all my pix are on the other phone but have been posted on Facebook.

On a Wendy Wu tour. Beds softer than others, fridge does not work, 2 keys handed out but only one worked,"why you want both keys to work?". A/C cant change again. Breakfast really average, at least toaster was quick but make sure you have your voucher for the correct day. Tea is just lightly flavoured water. Bring your own tea bags. Safe instructions in Chinese only.

A very sad hotel in desparate need of total refurbishment, greasy bed heads and badly cracked ceilings were just part of it! Breakfat was extremely poor and very hit or miss in terms of what was available. THe airconditioning wasn't working properly and we roasted. We spent a good 10 minutes going through cupbords trying to locate basics like cereals. The staff seemed very slap happy and not really bothered. There is no bar for evening drinks. Best avoided. Guilan must have better hotels than this.

Room Tip: Find a different hotel.

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of Wendy Wu Wonders of China tour. This hotel was the worst that we stayed in on our tour. The first night we were in bedrooms at the front and even though they are double glazed, the traffic noise was horrendous. In both rooms, wallpaper was peeling off the walls, carpet was grubby, very hard uncomfortable bed, dirty bathrooms and damp patches on the walls. Bedrooms at the rear are quieter but still very grubby. The Hotel does not have a bar and the breakfast was very basic, with the butter not in little packets but a bowl with a mountain of uncovered butter in it. Not very appealing or hygienic. Did not look forward to second breakfast here as even the cooked food was poor.

The Hotel is in a good location overlooking the river and close to restaurants and shops.

Would not recommend this Hotel and hope Wendy Wu don't put any more tourists up here.

Basic hotel but more than adequate for a few nights. The room was clean and nice and the breakfast had a good basic buffet breakfast catering to asian and western tastes. A bit of a walk from the centre of the town but they had a complimentary shuttle bus so wasn't a problem getting to the main area.
