Wow what a spot, had 3 rooms at this hotel. It’s on the square by the water fountains and Pagoda. The hotel itself is classic in style although about 30 years old. Rooms are Chinese, either single story or mezzanine floor. Not really views from the rooms but outside is very peasant with views to the wild goose pagoda, and 100 metres to the massive water fountains. Hotel is a good 3 1/2 possibly 4 star. Breakfast was pleasant. There are courtyards around the hotel if you which to sit outside and relax. Reception are good for China, normally one staff member on shift is semi capable of speaking English. Eating out - most restaurants are out the front door left and left again about 200 metres there is 50 places to eat and ATM machines and convenience stores. There is a bunch of bus stops out the front door to the right, 5 or 30 for the Xian Station to connect with Terracotta warriors buses or 609 for the Xian City Walk, think it’s 2RNB for a ticket-all pretty casual but fine. There is a KFC/Burger king if kids need a break from Asian food out the door and 200 straight in front of you at the Bottom of the water fountain to the left and right side.

If I went back I’d definetly stay there again. But be aware the cabbies can’t find it ( 3 cabs from Xian city wall - 20/25 RNB each all got semi lost )

A smilingly authentic looking Chinese hotel within walking distance to town area of stalls and park which come alive come night fall - reception staff 'functional' rather than welcoming. Room, cold stone floors and a bed that is definitely the hardest and most uncomfortable we have have ever come across in the WORLD! Pillows are either hard or even harder wheat filled (tour operator asked if others available, apparently not) - used spare duvet rolled up and towels to form softer sleeping options!
Breakfast was ok - a lot of Chinese choice though little western. Freshly made coffee available at breakfast time (for FREE) and I have to say the young man who made a cappuccino for me completely perfected his skill, fabulous! Would we stay here again, No - we need to sleep!

We had several outstanding hotel experiences on our tour of mainland China, so I would like to rate this hotel very good plus. I was looking for hotels with atmosphere, different from the usual modern box style hotel, and this hotel was lovely. The room itself was very comfortable, though more suitable to two persons than 3, as the two beds were American double style. We would have preferred a king and a single. There was an alcove but no mattress or sheets to go with. The breakfast was good, but not great, more geared to the Chinese palate (well, maybe that had something to do with the location!) Service was
cheerful enough. Location is good, in a park, though we were fortunate to have a driver, so I wasn't really as aware as I would have been on my own steam. Wifi worked well. Our room did have a nice sitting area with snacks provided. Fresh bottled water was supplied free of charge here, as in all hotels where we stayed. Good shower too! There was live traditional music in the courtyard in the evenings, and we enjoyed a beer with friends in the courtyard after touring.

This hotel is in a great position by the Wild Goose Pagoda. It's set in a pretty park , there is a fountain display most nights - worth seeing. The hotel is very pretty, the inner court yard a great place to relax. We would recommend this hotel . The breakfast isn't so great but we didn't stay here for the food .

The layout of the hotel is lovely and the idea of the gardens and wooden buildings is nice. The location is also good for the pagoda (which is the real thing!), the open space around the water feature and some shops. We found somewhere to eat locally but not sure there was much choice for those seeking local food with locals. We did not do any research though so maybe we just didn't find them.
Our room was fitted out with attention to detail and lots of homely touches so nothing to complain about there.
There was quite noisy building work going on in some of the rooms and the ponds for the gold fish were low on water / fish seemed to be struggling for air so that was not great.
Staff seemed friendly although we only used them to check in and out.
Really enjoyed the Chinese breakfast though.
In hindsight we wished we have chosen a hotel closer to Muslim quarter / city walls which felt more like real China when we visited. But that's obviously our mistake not the hotels.
