Rooms are big. Our checkin was late at night (2:00am)....no front office staff or any kind of staff was there.... neither any security... the check in took almost an hour.
They have got a rooftop revolving restaurant on the side Building (take elevators near the concierge desk). Lots of good small eateries just outside the hotel. Overall all an average hotel to spend a night at n town.

Older hotel in convenient location. The rooms were clean and the windows opened which was nice to let fresh air in after a rain. Comfortable bed. Bathroom a bit confining, a bit dark and older.
Not much going on in lounge. Good place to sleep and check out the city.

This hotel's policy (in the name of conservation) of controlling the air conditioning in guest rooms is highly unusual, uncomfortable for many guests and should be changed for the comfort of guests.. Our room temperature was constantly reading between 23 and 24C and for me, too hot for a good nights sleep - particularly with the warm bed covers provided. The irony here is that the public areas within the hotel (lobby, restaurants etc) were all air-conditioned - and the lobby usually had all front doors open to the street so hardly an act of conservation! The reception staff could also benefit from a training session on how to ask a guest for the 200RMB deposit - to say the request was blunt would be an understatement.

This hotel is an upscale hotel with multiple restaurants close by as well as shopping areas. I stayed here twice during this trip the first time upon arrival in Kunming and the second time after going to the Stone Forest, Yuanyang and Jianshui as part of my tour. The hotel staff were quite pleasant and helpful. The hotel's restaurant was expensive so I ate at another smaller place nearby called Disco's Chicken, comparable to KFC. The hotel lobby and shops are impressive the room was very nice comfortable and quiet as well. The bell staff is also quite helpful, while in Jianshui I bought two large silk Chinese lanterns for my grandchildren that were cumbersome to travel with. The assistant manager, she had the bell staff wrap them better and box them for easier handling and to carry on flights through the remainder of the trip. Getting laundry done was also a necessity on the return back to Kunming from the Stone Forest, Yuanyang and Jianshui all one night stays as was both stays at the Jinjiang hotel in Kunming; a bellboy advised my tour guide with directions to a local laundry that could do express laundry closeby. A real saver from hauling around dirty laundry for the next three days. The breakfast buffet is located on the 23rd floor in the revolving restaurant and is excellent it has both Asian and Western type food selections. I would most strongly recommend this hotel for a visit to Kunming.

Room Tip: Rear facing upper floors however front facing rooms are also quiet stayed in both during this trip.

We stayed here as part of our Wendy Wu tour and found the bed nice and comfy and a good sized shower with good hot water pressure. The aircon however was terrible, it was so hot in our room. But we called down and they brought us a portable one which did the job. They have a great breakfast range, the best we had the entire time we were in China and the service up there. They have a lock box aswell.
