The premise sounds awesome but all the stores are quite the same.
The ramen is pretty average, as were the gyoza.
I wouldn't go here expecting a great meal.
It was fine, but not brilliant. Average prices too.

Cute little alley but very disappointing ramen. We went to one of the first ones on the corner. Ramen was subpar and tasted almost store bought. After having ramen all over Japan, and in other places in Sapporo, this one did not compare. Check out Sumire for something way more authentic and delicious.
Simple set up yet the most authentic ones you can see in Japan. Everyone coming to Japan should come this Alley for ramen.
Even my kids love the ramen and said "oishi!!"
We visited the first shop located on the main entrance into the alley which was visited by Mr Anthony Bourdain. Nothing special. Taste is average. Shop owner not friendly.
This tiny little alley is full of nothing but ramen shops. We had some delicious ramen, complete with the ticket machine and a Sapporo beer to go with it. Definitely recommend stopping here for a meal!
When in Sapporo, this ramen alley is a must destination. So off we went and ate at the ramen house where Anthony Bourdain ate (Ajino Kanriyu?). We ordered the house specialty - the one with huge scallops. It was OK, nothing to rave about. We ate in a much better ramen house near Ibis Styles Sapporo (forgot to get the english name) - at half the price! So go visit just to complete your Sapporo tour - but if you want to get the best ramen, this is not the place to go.
