When you feel like you need a little break from all the traditional local food, go to Fortune Garden restaurant and you will not regretted. It is a French restaurant that serves both lunch and dinner and both times are fairly busy, so it probably not for days when you are in a rush. The selection of the appetizers and mains was not huge but everything we had was delicious and perfectly cooked. Broccoli + avocado salad was tangy and fresh, roasted chicken with roasted onions and "special" sauce kept chicken extremely moist and the babette step was outstanding. For lunch there was a set menu for around 2600yen, including a 3-4 sample appetizer plate, silky smooth pumpkin soup, the main dish and dessert+coffee/tea. The staff was very helpful and friendly and spoke great English.
