From the proactive outreach offering help with travel assistance and dinner reservations to the beautiful rooms (and generous World of Hyatt upgrade), this was a Park Hyatt-level, five-star experience.
The staff, in particular, Jen from the concierge desk, responded to every email (including several sent after hours) and was a warm professional. The concierge team also arranged a private tour guide on two hours' notice and dispatched someone to fetch train tickets for us overnight, ensuring we wouldn't be delayed due to the impending typhoon (which turned out to be very anti-climatic).
The room was understated, quiet, and luxurious, a sanctuary after busy days of work. The walk-in shower with its traditional wooden tub was easily the nicest shower I've ever seen.
We took breakfast in the steak restaurant daily. They offered very good food and excellent service.
Dinner at the restaurant downstairs was the only slight blemish on an extraordinarily positive experience. As others have noted, the prices were high and the service was slow.
As a seasoned, if not jaded, business traveler, I have never felt so genuinely welcome in a hotel before and would go back in a heartbeat.
