Thank you for writing to us.
Nothing beats hearing "this is a good hotel to stay", from the guest!
We are happy that you enjoyed your stay with us.
Clean & comfortable room, though small. Staff really friendly and helpful. Fab breakfast - mix of Japanese and western. Fresh bathrobes provided every day. Onsen in hotel good. Fantastic location for Toji temple (AMAZING).
Only downside was the smell of cigarettes in our non smoking room from the outside smoking courtyard.
Would stay again.
Thank you very much for your review.
We're glad that you enjoyed your stay at our hotel.
We would love to see you again too!
Non-smoking floors are available at the hotel. Please tell us your request when you make your reservation. We will try our best to arrange the best for you!
Like most hotel rooms in Japan this room was on the small size. However it provided everything you needed. The bed was comfortable enough, the pillows where a little on the sad side, but the shower was nice and hot and had good pressure. The only real negative was that our TV didn't work
Thanks for writing us your review.
We are glad to know that you enjoyed the bed and the shower.
We are very sorry for your experience in using the TV. Please tell us more about the issue (Email: email@example.com).
As for the pillow, we are happy to share with you that we are actually planning to change them soon, definitely hope to see you coming back to stay with us again and we will not disappoint you again!
Once again, thank you for supporting us and have a nice day!
I have been to Kyoto several times and am familiar with the size of the hotel rooms which did not bother me. What made us upset was that they assigned us a smoking room infact the entire floor smelled of smoke. We went back to the reception but they said that they could not give us another room. They tried to remove the smell but it did not help. Coming back to the room was a nightmare. Will never stay here again.
Thanks for writing to us and we are very sorry for your experience.
For room assignment, we will do it based on our guest's reservation request - smoking room OR non-smoking room.
We understand that sometimes guests may accidentally book a smoking room even though they would like to stay in a non-smoking room. Hence, during check-in, if non-smoking room is available, we will change the room for the guests. Unfortunately, we were not able to change it for you this time - once again, we would like to apologize for the inconveniences. We hope you will consider staying with us again and write us a note after you make the reservation to request for a non-smoking room.
I'm a type of person who doesn't care much about the facilities of the hotel as long as they provide me with great services (I work in hotel too and I feel like good service wins over anything). As I stayed in Kyoto for 2 nights only and mostly spent my time outdoor exploring Kyoto, the narrow room and bathroom wasn't a big deal as I got used to sleep in such when in Tokyo. They have the information book in the room that explain everything including how to work on the AC remote which has only Japanese instructions on the button. Also explain the etiquette of visiting the public bath they have (which I tried and I love it). Heater and hot water worked well. They even provide a one-for-all adapter. Breakfast menu was various and good enough to make us stay full the whole day. They also have a bucket filled with mini origami birds that we can freely take as a token of appreciation from the hotel for guests which made me feel warm. The staffs were so pleasant too. The mini band playing on top of the piano on the lobby was also the highlight of my hotel. I would love to stay here once I'm back to Kyoto again
Thank you very much for the appreciation. We too feel very warm reading your review. It is our pleasure to serve you and we can't wait to see you again in Kyoto! We may not be able to provide the best facilities, but we will definitely continue to offer the best service and hospitality!
It's nothing special but it's a room. Staff are pleasant. Hallways are very noisy all night. Needs better carpeting in halls to soak up sound. TV is all Japanese so don't expect to be using that unless you're fluent. It's a bed for the night which is all memory foam. Only one pillow on a double bed. It's very thin as well. Expensive for what you get.
Thanks for your review and your suggestion.
We're sorry that we probably missed to inform you that we actually provide extra pillows at the lobby when you checked in. Guests can choose the type of pillows they like too. We hope you will visit us again when you are in Kyoto.
