We stayed in an economy double room for one night on the tail end of a 3-week sightseeing trip in Japan. Overall, it was a good value. The room was larger than we expected, and came with a good selection of amenities (nice shampoo, conditioner and soap provided, too!) The bed was very firm and the pillows weren't great, but overall, it was a comfortable room with good wifi, and it was quiet at night. Breakfast wasn't impressive, though it was included, even though our reservation said "no breakfast." It may have been ok if you have a taste for soup and noodles for breakfast, but there were no eggs or bread and a minimal selection of other choices.
It's located just a 5-minute walk from the subway and is also quite near a large Aeon, which has a great selection of prepared foods, which we brought back to the room for a cheap sushi dinner. Other than that, we didn't see many restaurants in this neighborhood.
The only real problem we had was that we reserved the room using a debit card and no charge was supposed to be made until we checked in the room. However, 3 weeks before we checked in, the entire amount was debited from the account. We complained to Booking.com and they contacted the hotel for us. They recommend NOT using a debit card, since you'll run the risk of being double charged when...We stayed in an economy double room for one night on the tail end of a 3-week sightseeing trip in Japan. However, 3 weeks before we checked in, the entire amount was debited from the account. We complained to Booking.com and they contacted the hotel for us. They recommend NOT using a debit card, since you'll run the risk of being double charged when you check in and will need to pay for the room at that time (at which point, you'll hopefully be credited back the original amount). We ended up changing our reservation method to a credit card (they put a temporary hold on the card, but it does not go through as a charge), getting the debit amount credited (which they did - no problem) and paid cash when we checked in.
Check in time is 4 pm - early check in is not permitted, but they will store your luggage for you until you return to check into your room. Check out time is an early 10 am. Again, they'll hold your luggage at no additional charge, but if you want to stay past 10 am, you'll need to pay 1,080 yen for each hour until 1 pm - after that time, another day will be charged.
The staff was efficient. Not overly friendly, but they were available and willing to help us with a few questions about getting around Osaka. We would stay here again if we return to Osaka.More
