The location is pretty good.If you take bus from airport to OCAT only about 45mins.
The hotel is beautiful and the room s quite big.

Stayed here with family (all adults) for 3 nights. This place has an awesome location, it's only one street away from the famous dotombori shopping and entertainment district, and it's above JR-NAMBA station. You walk out of the station and into the hotel. We had a JR-railpass, so it was very convenient. Don't forget there are two NAMBA train stations in the area, this one is the JR and the other one is for a private railway. If you take a JR-rapid service out of osaka Kansai Airport, you will have to transfer to a local train bound for JR NAMBA at Tennoji (approximately 50 minutes total). This train ride fast takes only 10 minutes more than the ride with the Haruka Express, but will save you the seat reservation fee. If you take the private railway out of Kansai Airport you end up in the other NAMBA station, which is a 20 minute walk underground to the Grasmere.
If you have a JR-railpass it's extremely easy to take a daytrip to Nara. The JR-NAMBA station is directly connected with the JR-NARA station, and the train ride only takes 50 minutes.Under the hotel is a shopping mall connected with the Dotombori district, which has a great supermarket with al kinds of sushi and bento boxes, so very convenient for daytrips.

The hotel itself has a beautiful upscale (5 star) lobby on the 22th floor. However the rooms are very small for international standards, but still larger than most other hotel rooms in Japan. Our room had a city view from the 28th floor, which was fabulous. The room was new (hotel was built in 2009 I thought) and the bed was comfortable. Although we tried very hard, we didn't get the airco to cool down, only to warm up. Since the standard temperature was quite hot in there, we had to open the window to cool the place down. The bathroom has all the Japanese amenities, including a heated toilet seat. The restaurant is quite expensive, we ate in the Dotombori district.

I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a city view!

There were 4 of us we booked two twin studios; for 4 nights.
Excellent location downstairs in the Namba station there is everything you need shops, resturants and a supermarket which was very handy.
The main entrance is not obvious we thought we had gone in the back entrance.
The rooms were very clean and the bathroom products were good quality.
The beds were comfy but the pillows weren’t that good. the room was quiet even near the lifts.
The hotel restaurants were very overpriced, it would have been nice to have one expensive one and one more medially priced.
A short walk to Dotonbori , which has good restaurants and good sightseeing.

The Hotel Monterey chain is pretty visible throughout Kansai area (Kyoto, Osaka, Kobe) and each hotel has a different theme running through the lobby and rooms. The hotel Grassmere is supposed to remind you of an English country hunting retreat - of course, it really feels like a spacious business hotel, which it is. The rooms are clean and the bathroom is definitely bigger than your ordinary business hotel's bathroom, plus the view from the South-west side is fantastic. The staff is kind and attentive and speaks decent English and the location is terrific for getting to the subway, the airport, the bus terminal, etc... The main reason I stayed here, though, is because they offer promotions if you book far enough in advance - a month out and the room was marked off 40%. That's really a nice deal if you're looking to splurge on some space, comfort, location, view, and accessibility. And you needn't splurge too terribly much. But I wouldn't stay here if I had to pay full price. Not even to impress a partner.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a city view.
