“Awesome experience”
Reviewed 9 March 2012

This hotel is at a very good location. Service staff is really courteous and rooms are pretty good. I stayed at executive suite from where the view of petronus towers is awesome (though you can see only one of them from hotel's line of sight but thats pretty good nevertheless). Rooftop swimming pool adds to the hotel's features. Strongly recommend for any kind of travelers.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the petronus have a nice view esp at night.

Stayed for a 1 week in the Pacific Regency in KL. First had a room on the 27th floor which was in bad shape. 2x single beds. Airco made the noice of train, fridge was even worse. Changed later to a room on the 24th floor with King bed en a better interior. Hotel has some difficulties understanding the non-smoking concept as twice I was put in a smoking room. Rooms are nice in size, big kitchen which is rather useless. Beds are good. Bathroom is large and well equiped. Breakfast on the 23rd floor is good. (Nice restaurant in the evening!). Location is excellent. If you leave from the ground floor (not the lobby) there is a way to directly enter the Shangri La hotel from accoss the road. Saves you a lot of time walking to the KLCC and gives access to nice hotel for meetings. Interent is rubbish but all in all a good experience

Room Tip: Be carefull the for single bed rooms. Can be noice in the weekend on the higher floors.

King size room.. Huge bathing area.. good kitchenette for a cuppa hot coffee..havent really seen hotel rooms this size right on city centre. :)
Its away from the Hustle of Bukit Bintang... all calm and quite.. and yet right in the middle of everything..
Swimming pool not to be missed!!
Courteous staff.. overall...good value!

Room Tip: room with a view !

I stayed here for 4 nights in Jan 2012
Pros:
If you book early you will get a good rate.
Rooms are spacious and we got on one with the Petronas Towers in front of us
Flat screen TV sofa, dining table and kitchen, all included in the base category room, very spacious and 4-6 people can hang out with ease.
It is walking distance 1-1.5 km from both KLCC mall in one direction and Pavillion mall in the other direction.
Close to berjaya times square
Right opp a party street
Luna bar in the hotel is awesome!
You can see the Petronas towers and the Minaret from here all lit up at night!
The Minaret is right next door!
Cons
The pool shuts early @ 7 pm cause Luna bar opens at 8
Hotel Taxis are expensive

Great stay!

Stayed in February 2012, check-in was slow and problems with lifts , rooms are nice as is the pool. I would rather pay a little more and stay at the Fraser Place. Overall a nice hotel in a good location.

Stayed here from January 18-22, 2012 on a leisure trip with co-workers. The Hotel is very accessible to transport hub and just a few minutes walk to the business district - malls, restaurants, other hotels, main attractions. I loved our well-appointed but affordable room although it has some glitches - the bath tub's faucet and the thermostat aren't working (either you bear the cold temp of the room or you turn off the air conditioning unit). The hotel has friendly staff although they seem to be lacking in training. the key cards seem to malfunction frequently, thus, the inconvenience of trips from your room to the lobby and back to your room again, to have your key card reprogrammed. We liked the Luna Bar which has a good view of one the Petronas Towers (yep, you read it right. you can only see one tower from the bar). The water and toiletries aren't regularly replenished. I hope they could sound-proof the rooms so the guests couldn't hear the sounds emanating from their neighbors' rooms.

All in all, we had a pleasant stay despite the glitch. Won't hurt to try other hotels next time though.

Stayed there in Nov-Dec 2011 during a 3-week vacation in Kuala Lumpur with friends. The said 5-star hotel is very well located, just in the heart of the city and all the main attractions and shopping malls are not very far. Transport facilities are also quickly and easily accessible. The building is quite old, part of it being on refurbishment and the rest in need of a good lifting. It has also a nice roof-top pool and a lounge-bar, with great views of the city, especially at night. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable, equipped with tv, dvd and other facilities such as free internet wifi connection, kitchenette facilities, despite the furniture being a bit old. The beds are very comfy, with soft pillows. The bathroom is a nice, spacious place to rest after a long day out, either in the bathtub or the shower...
We had to wait a bit for check in and further arrangement to be made, having asked for a top-level non-smoking room. We however got breakfast in the meantime and was permitted to rest in the lounge area afterwards as our room was made ready, having arrived early in the morning. Check out also took time, as our luggage took ages to come down for us to leave.
The service is rather average there, as the staff seem not to be real professionals. They take time to fufill your requests and sometimes you have to brag on to have the necessary done. They appear unorganised and not very well trained to welcome guests as it should. Even the cleaning is done
The food is not fabulous neither, no great variety to choose from during breakfast and they are a bit costly if you order 'a la carte' in the restaurants or for room service at other time of the day.... fortunately we were out most of the time and had food outside.
This hotel is great value for money only if you only need a well located place to settle to sleep in KL, otherwise the service doesn't encourage to come back for another vacation trip to rest and have fun, personally and really doesnt meet the 5 star hotels standards.
