Pacific Regency Hotel Suites
Ranked #76 of 347 Hotels in Kuala Lumpur
Reviewed 29 March 2012

I booked into the Pacific Regency from March 18-23, 2012. I knew from reviews that it was a little dated and probably wasn't a 5* hotel anymore, if it ever had been. But I didn't expect the problems I ended up having. On my second night, I had a leak in my bathroom ceiling, which was made worse by the fact that all my clothing was in drawers just under where the leak was. I contacted the front desk and they said everything would be taken care of. While the bathroom was cleaned that day, there appeared to have been no work done on the ceiling so though I was dissapointed, I wasn't entirely surprised that the same thing happened the next night. At this point, my clothes were soaked. Again, I phoned the front desk who seemed completely unconcerned that this had happened two nights in a row. And they seemed upset that I insisted they launder all my wet clothes. Unbelieveably, the same thing happened the next night as well. Luckily, I had removed my clothes from the drawers and left the next day. I mentioned the problems when I checked out but they failed to apologize for any inconvenience and certainly made no attempt to compensate me for my troubles.

Others have spoken of the run down state of the hotel. This is certainly true, and it merits at best 3*. Indeed, the pool on the top of the building is the only reason to stay here (although they sell $15 beers.) If the service were improved, I could have put up with the run down state of the hotel and indeed the leak on the first evening as well. But with the very poor service, I would look elsewhere: there are certainly plentry of options to choose from in KL in general and the KLCC area in particular.

I wasn't expecting the size of this 'room' or should I say apartment? Excellent views through the two corner windows, and the kitchen in the suite is as big as my kitchen at home! The passage from the lifts smelt like mould... Which I've come to expect from Asian hotels, but the room itself didn't smell, and was very clean, though the decor and fittings were dated and could do with an update.
I'd definitely recommend this hotel to families and those wanting a little extra space.
The location was good and within walking distance of shops and resteraunts.

Booked this hotel on their website, on arrival room was upgraded, as the room configuration I chose was not available.

Excellent guest services, check in and porter were efficient and polite.

Room was exceptionally clean, well appointed with good quality wired internet (complimentary) and work desk. Beds were pillow top style which are incredibly comfortable. The bathroom was spacious with rain fall style shower.

The Gym and pool at this hotel were great. Pool is a must to visit, it's on the top floor with open air overseeing KL. Gym was well equipped.

The location is great just a short walk from twin towers and bars.

I've stayed there for 2 nites. Unfortunately the name does not live to the expectation, even the basic are not met. Room decor old and looks pathetic. Location not convenient as one have to walk up or down the steep slope to the hotel. Paying over M$300++ for a room per nite, you can get a better deal else where. By the way the building next to it is under construction. You can see the big crane just beside your window. I'll give it a miss if I ever travel again to Kuala Lumpur.

This hotel is at a very good location. Service staff is really courteous and rooms are pretty good. I stayed at executive suite from where the view of petronus towers is awesome (though you can see only one of them from hotel's line of sight but thats pretty good nevertheless). Rooftop swimming pool adds to the hotel's features. Strongly recommend for any kind of travelers.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the petronus have a nice view esp at night.

Stayed for a 1 week in the Pacific Regency in KL. First had a room on the 27th floor which was in bad shape. 2x single beds. Airco made the noice of train, fridge was even worse. Changed later to a room on the 24th floor with King bed en a better interior. Hotel has some difficulties understanding the non-smoking concept as twice I was put in a smoking room. Rooms are nice in size, big kitchen which is rather useless. Beds are good. Bathroom is large and well equiped. Breakfast on the 23rd floor is good. (Nice restaurant in the evening!). Location is excellent. If you leave from the ground floor (not the lobby) there is a way to directly enter the Shangri La hotel from accoss the road. Saves you a lot of time walking to the KLCC and gives access to nice hotel for meetings. Interent is rubbish but all in all a good experience

Room Tip: Be carefull the for single bed rooms. Can be noice in the weekend on the higher floors.
