“Great walk through the jungle & a view worth the walk”
Review of Trois Freres Trail

Trois Freres Trail
Reviewed August 12, 2017

It's well worth the 90 minutes it will take you to walk this route. If you're arriving by car, drive up the track immediately on the right as you drive up the mountain where you see the sign. You drive through an area of housing, but there is a small parking area at the end. The trail is rough, but not arduous. There are pitcher plants near the top, which are worth the walk alone. When you get to the top, the views of the East of the island are amazing. You definitely need decent shoes, don't try it in flip flops.

The trail is not very long but it is rather challenging. It will probably take between 1 hour 30 - 45 minutes to complete. There are some sections that will not be suitable for everyone. The views from the top is something to see.

The length of trail is 800m approx 1.5 hrs up and down. Path is not very steep only at the near the top. Most of trail is flattery sort of with bit inclination. OK for beginners. The trail extends further up thou, I dint go as the board says to go at your own risk and trail looked bit much to go further. Nevertheless the view from mid way was nice, I could see a flight land at runway which was nice. Morne blanc is much steeper than this one. If you plan to do one trail do morne blanc. Or if you beginner for trek this one suits. View isn't great as morne blanc however you see the other side of island which is Victoria Eden island, Mahe city.

We took the trip all the way up to the cross and the reward is a fantastic view over Mahe. The hike is steep, especially the last piece to the top. Not recommended during rain fall as the trail will get slippery, but it is a great trip on a clear day.

The first trail leads to a beatiful view of Victoria and the north east coast of Mahe. This part is not so hard to walk and takes about an hour to reach and back again.

I recommened the second part to the more adventurous and fit people since it is steep and requires a bit of climbing in hot weather. We got to the top in about 3 hours, in a low pace and with pauses for photographing.
We didn´t see anything from the top since it was covered in clouds, but it still was a great day and experience.
