CENTARA HOTEL MANILA
These days is hard to find a brand hotel in manila city with prices less than US$ 90,
Location wise is pretty good although situated in an off major road, however, there are nice good restaurants such as Aristocrat round the corner and 7/11, and 24 hours store was all within walking distance, 5 minutes by cab to Robinson Shopping Center, and less than 100 peso 10 minutes taxi to Mall of Asia ( a one stop shopping mall, one should not miss while in Manila )
Arrived at the hotel early evening. checking in took a bit time, also had to change room as I requested a king size bed but was initially given one with a twin bed despite giving early instructions by email , of room list
Overall stay in hotel was pretty good without any real major hitch up, stayed in a premier room as prices was just slightly higher than a deluxe one, rooms was nice and big, beds was firm and provide a good night sleep, large soft pillow, aircon was also great with adjustable air coolness,
Breakfast was well stock and until 10am with local and western cuisines and changes each day which was welcoming since my stay was for a week, may suggest that breakfast be till 10.30am for a late night sleepers on holiday,
Housekeeping cleanliness was also above par, bathroom was well stock of the normal amenities and modern looking , with rain shower , however there is a design setback, as firstly, felt that the bathtub was on the high side and may provide some problem for elderly person , also the floor gets really wet when one takes a shower, no matter with a shower head or rain shower as water drops off from the bathtub edges onto the floor making the floor slippery thus one has to be careful after show to step off from the high bathtub onto the wet floor , as there are no hand bar to place your hands for gripping to step out except to hold onto the glass shower divider after taking your showers,
Staffs generally provided good service and with a nice happy smile & greeting each time, but the management should really look to provide more petty cash with small notes at cashier counter, as there was always no small notes to break a 500 peso or even 100 peso change for taxi etc ,whenever one request , and real inconvenience at times with the general attitude of taxi drivers in Manila always asking more than what the meter reading is, for those that has visited Manila for few times may know what I mean .
Checking out was a breeze, and highly praised staffs for double checking rooms for any personal stuffs left over by guests upon checking out, as I was asked if I wanted back some drinks which I left back in the rooms which did not want to carry with me, it was a nice surprised to have such efficient and honest staffs simply if not to enquire on such matters
I will definitely stay again in CENTARA Hotel and maybe the only hotel for now on to stay, each time I visit Manila,
