CENTARA HOTEL MANILA

These days is hard to find a brand hotel in manila city with prices less than US$ 90,
Location wise is pretty good although situated in an off major road, however, there are nice good restaurants such as Aristocrat round the corner and 7/11, and 24 hours store was all within walking distance, 5 minutes by cab to Robinson Shopping Center, and less than 100 peso 10 minutes taxi to Mall of Asia ( a one stop shopping mall, one should not miss while in Manila )
Arrived at the hotel early evening. checking in took a bit time, also had to change room as I requested a king size bed but was initially given one with a twin bed despite giving early instructions by email , of room list
Overall stay in hotel was pretty good without any real major hitch up, stayed in a premier room as prices was just slightly higher than a deluxe one, rooms was nice and big, beds was firm and provide a good night sleep, large soft pillow, aircon was also great with adjustable air coolness,
Breakfast was well stock and until 10am with local and western cuisines and changes each day which was welcoming since my stay was for a week, may suggest that breakfast be till 10.30am for a late night sleepers on holiday,
Housekeeping cleanliness was also above par, bathroom was well stock of the normal amenities and modern looking , with rain shower , however there is a design setback, as firstly, felt that the bathtub was on the high side and may provide some problem for elderly person , also the floor gets really wet when one takes a shower, no matter with a shower head or rain shower as water drops off from the bathtub edges onto the floor making the floor slippery thus one has to be careful after show to step off from the high bathtub onto the wet floor , as there are no hand bar to place your hands for gripping to step out except to hold onto the glass shower divider after taking your showers,
Staffs generally provided good service and with a nice happy smile & greeting each time, but the management should really look to provide more petty cash with small notes at cashier counter, as there was always no small notes to break a 500 peso or even 100 peso change for taxi etc ,whenever one request , and real inconvenience at times with the general attitude of taxi drivers in Manila always asking more than what the meter reading is, for those that has visited Manila for few times may know what I mean .
Checking out was a breeze, and highly praised staffs for double checking rooms for any personal stuffs left over by guests upon checking out, as I was asked if I wanted back some drinks which I left back in the rooms which did not want to carry with me, it was a nice surprised to have such efficient and honest staffs simply if not to enquire on such matters
I will definitely stay again in CENTARA Hotel and maybe the only hotel for now on to stay, each time I visit Manila,

Room Tip: book a premier room , much larger and value for money

Thank you most sincerely for having taken the time to offer your words of appreciation and perhaps even more importantly to us, your thoughts as to how we might improve our products and services into the future.
Our sincere apologies that your initial request for a double bed made when you reserved with us via e mail was overlooked- we will ensure that our process of guest requests is retrained and more closely monitored. Similarly we will take careful note of your excellent suggestion to keep a wider range of change at our Lobby Desk for guests to avail themsleves of should the need arise.
Thank you for your kind words regarding all of our staff - we all look forward to being of service upon your next vist. Thank you for choosing Centara Hotel Manila.

We stayed her for three nights in March 2012. As other has experiences we also had a bath with water running out under it but the room including the bathroom was clean and spacious and did not smell of old water. The room was very noisy and if we were to stay longer we would definetely need to change to a room further away from the street and the elevators. The staff was very friendly though the check-in and check-out procedure was really slow. They did manage to arrange for a trip to Taal Lake for us with only a half day notice on a saturday evening (after spending a saturday in Manila we wanted to get out of the city the next day to get some fresh air). The restaurant is good but the gym was really nasty and looked as it was never cleaned. The hotel is situated a bit away from downtown Manila so you need to walk a mile or so to get to Rizal Parc area. That was fine by us and we did not feel unsafe in the area though it looked a litte suspicious. All in all I would recommend it because it was cheap and it was nice and clean with friendly staff. I would not accept a room near the elevator and the street again though but people react very differently to noise and I am a light sleeper so it might not affect everybody.

The hotel has a modest lobby and breakfast area. It is situated in a less preferred part of Malate many blocks from the bay. The room was very nice and comfortable and clean. The brekfast was just OK. I am from USA - I think most guests are Asian. I would recommend if you get a really good deal - otherwise, no.

Room Tip: Choose upper rooms to get above the noise

I sayed 13 night here at this hotel and i loved my stay here/ It was just a short cab ride away from the mal od asia and robinson mall. The kids loved the pool but we didnt try the gym. Great breakfast buffet and the service was great. The front desk staff was very helpful and even when i left there to go other places they kept my big luggage there unti i returned so i had less to carry. This as my first time in the phillippines and they made me feel very welcome and when i go back again i will be staying there. I only had the deluxe room whiule i was there so i cant say anything about the other rooms but my rooms was very big and very comforttable and the room service was very fast.

This is an old hotel that has ben totally gutted and rebuilt as new. Nice room decorated in muted tomes, new so very fresh and clean. Good breakfast, no hotel bar in the evenings. Fair size rooftop pool, and the gym was OK. General sevice good with excellent room service! The area might be a bit "challenging" if this is your first visit to Malate. Manila Zoo, Quiorino ave, Baywalk, Malate church and fountain and Remidos Circle are all within 5 mins walk.

Room Tip: The higher the better, for a view!

We staying in Centra Hotel Manila at a room 1007 for the last 4 days.
Our room is pretty nice, large and with a good view on Manila Bay.
We have problem with our bathroom only - very bad smell inside of bathroom.
Water comes between a bathtub and a wall and stucks under the bathtub.
I think this is a reason of the bad smell.
If all rooms were made by the same style, the bad smell should be everywhere: inside of all bathrooms.
All another is nice: staff is friendly, breakfast is testy, a price is reasonable.

Room Tip: Should avoid of a bad smell inside of a bathroom

Good restaurant (not so cheap though), big, clean rooms, good beds, clean bathroom (shower only), very nice staff (they helped me promptly with wifi connection). If you have business to do in Malate (near the port, not too far from Mall of Asia), this hotel might be a smart choice.
I did not try the pool.
