Nearly 2.500 years old, this amazing theatre was originally built during Classical Grecian times, and remains one of the best-preserved such structures around today. Immerse yourself in this astonishing building, now handily located on one of the main roads leading into Bodrun, and offering excellent views into the bay and the city.

Like any outdoor venue the Ampitheatre has great acoustics affording ancient announcers to command the ear of audiences who came to watch the spectacle onstage .There were musical events Plays and often demonstrations of prowess of a military type.Go to the top or the seating and you get an idea of what it likely felt like to go there to see an event. There are many photographic points of interests so the keen camera user will get some reallyinteresting shots.

We visited the theatre on a day trip to Bodrum from Kos and it was more than worth the walk up a steep hill in June heat and negotiating crossing a busy road!

It's been very well preserved/reconstructed - you can feel the history as you walk into it. There is no charge to enter it and a couple of information boards are available to read. My husband and I were able to spend time exploring the seating areas and taking everything in. The view from the top over Bodrum was spectacular.

No need to make special trip. This can be seen from main road as you pass.. Ephesus theatre is far more rewarding.
