My wife and I stayed here in March 2017 on our way to Albuquerque. It's located on the eastern edge of the city off I-40 and I consider this to be safe. Good size parking lot.

Staff was excellent, the breakfast area is large and the options were excellent. The pool and gym were in working condition.

I'd recommend this motel strongly.

Room tip: Clean. safe, great breakfast

I travel for the military quite a bit and I find this to be a top rated hotel. I have stayed at many hotels that are 4 and 5 star hotels that are this clean. I have to give this my top rating. The breakfast was fantastic. In fact it was so fantastic that is what I took pictures of for you. you'll not be disappointed at this location.

This property has ample parking, a nice lobby, larger than average breakfast area, well stocked breakfast, good Wifi, and larger than average rooms. Sounds really great, right? Well, all of this was negated by the fact that our room door was vary hard to open and close. You had to pull hard to ensure it latched. Imagine our surprise when we returned to our room at 10 pm Saturday night that the housekeeping staff had left our door ajar!! They did not ensure that the door closed all the way. We immediately went downstairs and politely told the night desk attendant what we had just discovered. She listened and said, "Sorry, there is nothing I can do." The next morning when we checked out, we also told the morning desk attendant and all she said was "Sorry". A caring, customer focused, hotel would have at least acted concerned about it. A caring hotel would have offered to lower our rate or give us additional frequent stayer points. But not the Fairfield Amarillo Airport. Just, a non-empathetic, "Sorry." Well, Fairfield, you had the opportunity to shine but you failed big time. There are plenty of competing properties in Amarillo and we will try a different one the next time we are in Amarillo!! And, by the way, don't forget to fix the door.

Room tip: As noted above, avoid room 401.

I am very sorry that you had an issue with your room. This is not a typical response that my agents would give. I am not sure what exactly happened but you can be assured that I will look into this matter and get to the bottom of what happened. If you would like to contact me I would be happy to speak with you and see what we can do to make this right.

We stay at Marriott Hotels often and are usually met with clean rooms , friendly people and an overall above average experience. This however was different than our average Marriott stay. When checking my account at home the charges on my card did not match my receipt. I called the front desk and was told to call back Monday. I explained that I was concerned as the receipt said signature on file and I had not signed anything. I was told they could charge what they wanted after the swiped the card and by allowing them to swipe it I was authorizing use. I ask the front desk girl to call her manager .. to make a long story short she was very rude and hung up on me. I called back and ask that she have the manager call me ... she said I told you once you can call her on Monday. In addition to the rude behavior we found the hotel to be substandard when compared to other Marriott's we have stayed in. The door jam was broken, the room was dusty, there was a nasty greasy hand print on our window. Marriott's usually have an excellent breakfast. This was terrible ... cold and over cooked sausage and they ran out of coffee. I will say that when calling the Marriott Customer Service number I was met with what I expect from Marriott .... good service , good people and a genuine concern. I still do not have an answer on my card .... I guess I will address that on Monday . I will stay at other Marriott's , but I will find out who owns this franchise and will not stay at another of their properties. My advise is drive a little further down the road and stay at a different Marriott.

Thank you for posting your review concerning your stay. I am sorry that you feel like the agent speaking with you was rude. She did call me that evening of your first inquiry and let me know about your concern on the charges. I had her do the research for me and we both went over the charges. Your folio was charged the same amount posted on the receipt you were given. This is the only charge on the account.

As with every hotel when you check in there is an authorization on the card to verify that there is sufficient money on the account for the room and tax as well as incidentals. This always drops off after 5 to 7 business days (according to your bank). The only actual charge is the one that shows on your receipt.

As for the other complaints, I am sorry and wish you would have stated this when you were at the hotel.

I booked this via app when we were only about an hour out of Amarillo. At that point, I only had location in mind, and this would be the first hotel we came upon. I've stayed in Amarillo before, and the other hotels are fine, which is what I expected. This hotel definitely exceeded "fine." Yes, it's on Marriott's lower budget choices, so keeping that in mind, I found this a really excellent Fairfield. It must be new, as it is in excellent shape. And for being near the Interstate AND an airport, I expected some noise. We found it super quiet, comfortable, relatively inexpensive and a good rest--everything we hoped for. (P.S., on my app, I was seeing rooms in Amarillo for $25--40... I can't imagine the quality of those rooms, so I didn't even consider them. I'm imagining bed bugs and other icky things. This hotel was about $140.)
