This is a good place to find good restaurants and specialty stores. It's a bit of an artsy place. Not someplace that I would recommend as a must do.

South Congress has a lot of fun, ecleclic shops and places to grab a snack. It spans for a good while, so you should definitely jump from strip to strip. The candy shop over there is great if you have a sweet tooth, and the vintage store next to it has TONS of cool Texas-based finds.

A wonderful walking activity about 4 -5 blocks long with cool shops selling local giftware (and of course, some typical imports), cool candy shops, clothing stores, restaurants and bars. If it's sunny expect lots of traffic, enjoy!

We stopped here multiple times while visiting Austin to eat and shop. The boutiques are high priced but offer hard to find, unique items. And the people are interesting too! There are open air vendors on the weekends selling home made items. It is safe to walk around.

Everyone tells you to come here for the hipster experience, but was disappointed to see so many shops close between 5 and 6, since it is a tourist hot spot. By 7 everything, bar eateries, was closed. Expected more.
