Netherlands Carillon
Ranked #17 of 86 things to do in Arlington

When visiting the Iwo Jima Monument, the Carillon is really to close not to go check out. Don't know if they ever open the stairs on it, but the view would be awesome if they did. Go to this site to see the Iwo Jima Monument and check out the Carillon if time permits.

It's interesting to note that the Netherlands donated the Carillon to the U.S. for saving their country from the Nazis. We could hear the carillon from Arlington National Cemetery.

The Carillon itself is nothing spectacular, but there is a very nice set of flowers in front, and it does chime every now and then. And if into photography, it is nicely situated up on a hill overlooking the mall.

The Carillon is a unique structure, but just barely worth visiting by itself. But it has a spectacular view of DC, and is next to the Iwo Jima Marine Corps Memorial. By all means go for the combination.

This is one of my favorite places to be in Arlington. Very close to Iwo-Jima and Arlington National Cemetery, this Carillon, donated by the Netherlands, is beautiful.
