Three of us came here for lunch. Waited only a few minutes and dined inside although outside is also available. The prix fixe menu choices are popular but we chose a la carte. Great roast duck, tempura, and a hot soba noodle soup. Staff were charming. English menu was promptly offered. Very relaxed and quiet atmosphere. Prices reasonable. Definitely a place to bring return guests!

It was a little walk to get there, but we had a very nice soba noodle lunch at Matsubara-an. They have a lovely outdoor patio. We especially enjoyed the cold soba noodles with a sesame dipping sauce. Be aware that the restaurant shares a patio with a more casual cafe. Make sure you are seated on the restaurant side if you hope to order food.

Our guide brought us here to enjoy Sake and Soba - it was fantastic. I had the Yuzu Soba and my daughter and the guide both had the Tempura Soba. Everything was delicious. The atmosphere was relaxing and in keeping with the town - VERY Zen.
I would highly recommend this as a place for lunch or dinner either during or following a tour of Kamakura.

The terrace is nice for summer night and the food was very good, specially the lemon soba. You should reserve as they are often fully booked.
