Superb small hotel

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Nov 6, 2016
This is a great small hotel right on the beach with fantastic views, facilities and service. Almost the complete opposite from the large 5 star hotels, the fact that this place only has 12 rooms makes it such a friendly place. Rooms have everything you need, but if you do need anything more just ask the staff - they will be happy to oblige. The grounds and the pool are delightful, and the hammock on the front balcony of every room is just too good to resist.
Date of stay: November 2016
Room Tip: Ground floor rooms open directly onto garden and poolside.

The staff is great. They help you with anything you can imagine. We were not so many people staying there this week, but we became like a family very quick. The beach is just in front (maybe the best in the area), a lot of nice restaurants when you do a walk there, the pool with sun-screens and a bar/restaurant at your side. You get new towels for the pool every day, and others for the room. Fresh and cooling winds from the sea. Very calm and almost no sound from traffic, or the airport only two kilometers away. The travel-agency they cooperate with is good value, and takes you to other super-beaches. If you like TV, there is a lot of channels to choose from.

The internet is a bit slow. It works with phone and audio, but have problems with video. It is also a little unstable, so at moments it's down to almost nothing. It is only when you go into details - you find things not to like. It is not a "five-star European hotel", so you don't get your shoe polished just by putting them outside the door, and there was no paper-basket in the room itself, etc. But - so what?!
It was a five star Brazilian experience.

Room tip: Downstairs will go directly into the pool-area, but upstairs you get maybe more refreshing wind. But there are both a fan and AC

My husband and I stayed here after a birding trip in Bahia. The hotel is on the beach and the setting is really beautiful. Staff was friendly and our room was clean and a very nice bathroom. We had a late lunch after arriving. The menu is focused on seafood prepared Bahian style. We had a seafood Mocacu and it was delicious. The caiprinhias later in the evening were very good. But truly oustanding was the buffet breakfast. Fruits, breads, eggs, coffee, juices. Lots of Brazilians staying here and everyone seemed very happy. I highly recommend this hotel. Also, a sunrise walk on the beach was fun.

Our agenda was to do nothing. I have never done this on holiday. We arrived mid afternoon from Rio, took a taxi to the hotel and then ate and drank in the hotel for two days only leaving to pop out to the beach immediately behind the hotel. It was great.
From check in to check out the staff were friendly and cheerful. English speaking is limited but the staff tried their very best to communicate and it is my own fault for not knowing more Portuguese. But we didn't have any problems and got everything we wanted. The rooms have balconies and a hammock is provided. We could see the pool and thirty seconds later you were there. Lounging chairs were available and towels. Next to the pool was a little restaurant/ bar where delicious fresh meals were cooked from lunchtime
Really really nice food and drinks and we had no inclination to go elsewhere. Breakfast was served in a room downstairs and was quite a good spread of cakes, fruit, breads and pastries. The hotel has a path to the beach though you can't take towels from the hotel there. Beach was nice although a bit of rubbish at top of the beach so you won't want to walk bare foot till you get onto the beach proper. The beach did have a lifeguard. Really sandy and the sea was great- some people were surfing but we just had fun getting pushed along by the waves. Quite powerful. Free unlimited Internet.
Loved our stay here and it was superb value.

We stayed in pousada in December 2014 with my husband and we had very nice and relaxed stay. Everything worked as agreed, rooms were clean and cosy and we felt like home during our stay. Staff was very helpful while we organized some trips, travelling plans etc. They also helped us a lot with Portuguese. Pousada is little far from other restaurants and activities but we didn't mind because food in their own restaurant was excellent. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!

The pousada dos hibiscus, run by two slovenians that care personnally for the comfort and well-being of their hosts. All rooms have a view over the beach and, though very simple, are comfortable and clean.Breakfast is good, and offer home-made breads, cakes and fresh juice.Silence and calm are priceless, but the prices are reasonable.

Room tip: higher floors have a most spectacular view of the seafront
