I was in Jeri for kitesurfing in 2 months.. tried out 4 pousadas during this time.. and this was the best place to stay in my point of view for a traveler with my kind of budget and needs... Greg the Belgian owner really know how to take care of his clients and is a kitesurfer him self.. The Pousada have rooms of different prices and size.. this gives a varied clientell... cause they can offer rooms that fit everyone from single travlelers to others that travel in groups...And it 's a really social place to stay as the rooms are sourrronding the swimmingpool and the breakfeast area so you will always be able to get to know somone to hang out with.

It is not a 5 star hotel so don't expect a 5 star hotel breakfest.. but it is good value for the money, just ask for "ovos" eggs and the maid wil make it for you... as many as you wants and however you want it...there are aircondition and tv in the room... but who watch tv in Jeri? ... Jeri is a amall village buildt on sand so the beach is really everywhere so it is located on the beach but about 200 meter from the sea... the location is a littlebit outside where the touristrap area are that is just a good thing)... it's only a 5 minute walk to the mainstreet ... It is a good atmosphere at this hotel and it suitable for most travellers that go to a place like Jeri... if you are rich, social and want cool company you ask for the best and largest rooms... (if you are among the rich who arrive by helicopter and want privacy you should rather stay at the Chili Beach)... but if you are satisfied with normal comfort and want to have fun and feel the real spirit of Jeri you rather stay at Azul no matter how much money you have!!! But remember my ratings are for a pousada and for the value for the money it offers ....

Really well located, close to the beach and in a quiet street, this pousada has the most amazing staff, really clean rooms (serviced everyday) and a very nice breakfast. The Belgian owner (who speaks fluent Portuguese) is helpful and nice. Great, beautiful and relaxing place and very good value for money.

I would not recommend Poussada Azul.

Rooms are not cleaned daily.

When we complained of flies and mosquitoes – the manager/owner told us that it was fly season. I did not see flies anywhere else in Jeri – go figure.

The breakfast fruit is not fresh. This is due to the lack of guests. The fruit not eaten on one day will be used until it is finished.

While internet is fast in Jeri – computers at Azul take forever to load applications. So using internet there takes longer than anywhere else.

Operator told us the beach was 60 meters away. More like 200 meters.

We booked a tour through the hotel. We should have done more research. Very overpriced and would not lower the cost when informed of identical tours for 2/3 the price.

You can hear the owner/manager yelling at his kid constantly. When I tried to lighten the mood by asking if the kid was his son – he replied “Unfortunately”.

Not very expensive – but at what cost?
