Several reviews of this place talk about small, windowless rooms. Perhaps I was lucky, but when I went to book all the rooms were full. They offered me a cottage that they own, one of two which are joined to form a small historic little house. This was located down a (very steep!) hill. Breakfast was provided in the Pousada itself, so the uphill walk to breakfast was an interesting way to start the day. My "apartment" within the cottage was charming consisted of a small sitting area, a bedroom down a few stairs and a bathroom. All areas were on the small side, but were not cramped. Service was efficient and friendly, though there was a problem putting my credit card through... Don't know why as it worked everywhere else. Fortunately I had just enough cash!
