It's an expensive short ride by boat on the river, which can take you very close to the falls, assuring the "bath". I enjoyed much more the visit itself to both parks (Brazilian and Argentinian sides) than the Macuco Safari, but if you have time and money left, it's a nice thing to do!

This trip is an optional part of a visit to the Iguaçu Falls National Park. It's pricey but completely worth it! A buggy takes you through the forest before you walk the rest of the way to a well organised boarding area about 20-30 metres below. There are changing rooms and secure lockers so you can change into clothes you don't mind getting wet...you will get completely drenched! The boat ride must be experienced!!!

Large and apparantly safe boats with powerfull engines brought us into, under and through several of the waterfalls until everyone were truly soaked. Then a rollercoaster race through some rapids down river. My "drysack" had a leak so all my change clothes were wet too, but managed to dry up enough to walk the rest of the park comfortably. Very good fun and thrills with confident crew. They recorded most of the trip and you could sign up for a copy of the video on CD sent to our hotel. Had our own GoPro so didn't go for that option. Would easily take the trip again for my next Iguazu visit!

Encouraged by several young men sitting up front with us, our boat captain drove us under the falls quite a few times so we were soaked when we returned. It was too much fun. Make sure your cameras, cell phones, etc. are in a plastic bag and secured under your clothes AND poncho. The poncho helps to keep you somewhat dry but your clothes will still be wet. It was cool weather so I had on two shirts, a water resistant windbreaker, and the poncho on top of that.

This activity was 215 Real and 10 Real extra if you wanted to use a locker to keep some things dry. You can choose between a dry (going near the waterfalls) and a wet ride (going under the waterfalls). There is a guy with a GoPro filming the ride and making photos which you can buy (of course, another extra cost) afterwards. i would advise the wet ride when it's a hot day, otherwise it can get quite cold as the boat goes quite fast so already cools you down fast.
