The hotel is very good, it’s big, it has a very big swimming pool too… The sea water is beautiful and very clear, my sister and I really enjoy it, the games with Teacher Pudim are super fun, and I made friends and learned little portuguese.
Let me start by saying I tried to email management with no response. To start our vacation when we were checked into our room the door to the bedroom would not close. We requested for the door to be fixed or moved to a similar room. After a entire day of waiting to find out a answer we were changed to a room that was not similar however we were charged the same nightly rate. There was a very bad bedbug problem in the second room. Sadly we did not realize that until we checked out. We thought it was mosquitos biting us. The resort is beautiful. That is the only positive. The customer service is terrible. The food is sub par. If you want a cheeseburger you cannot get one until 11:30pm. The buffet offers little variety. For some reason there was no pepper for your food to be found anywhere. There is 1 excursion option. They charge top dollar because there is no competition. If you want to do anything outside of the resort you are looking at a 1 hour drive. The WiFi is practically non existent. To get a good meal you have to be at reception between 3pm and 6pm. You basically can sit at the pool or sit at the beach. That is the extent of activities. They cannot offer you adapters for the electrical plugs so be sure to bring with you. This is not a five star resort. Go to the Sheraton hotel and spa for a better experience. They say they have a spa but only offer massage. No other services are offered. Very few employees speak English.

The hotel has an impressive infrastructure including pools bars restaurants and rooms. The rooms are spacious but already deserve some renovation. The location is very reserved and has access to almost 2 private beaches with lots of nature nearby. I would not recommend the all inclusive service the quality of the food and drinking are border line. The staff is very friendly and they have hard work to keep everything cleaned and organized in the restaurants bars polls and the gardens. Again is huge property inserted in the Brazilian Serra. Also easy access to get the boats trip around the many different beaches ⛱. Beware full with the booked dinners you have a limited quantity for. We stay for 4 days and just got one voucher. In the end price counts more for the property and the unique location

Beautiful location, infrastructure and grounds, but let down by indifferent food, virtually no information and very limited entertainment. The beach location is spectacular and the pool and garden area is beautiful and well maintained. During our stay there was no bar open at night, with the exception of a very noisy music bar full of children. Our visit was all inclusive, but the food was virtually the same for each lunch and dinner and certainly not five star.
I would like to thank you for your preference for our Hotel and for having sent your comment, or for deserving our best attention. We are sorry that we did not meet your real expectations. As you must understand, our team does not want some customers to feel dissatisfied and with all the pleasure and pride that they try to perform a good service according to a category that Vila Galé Eco Resort of Angra boasts. It was an amazing stay! But first, this is a hotel that receives mostly Brazilians, so, don't expect some international things in there, ex. food, but I loved Brazilian food, so it was ok for my family and me.
The pros:
- The mixture of jungle and beach is amazing. YOu have the jungle in one side, and the beach and the sea on the other side. It's a bay area so the sea has no waves, it's just like a pool.
- The food, i loved it. Also the restaurants, with great menus.
- The staff is very nice and they are always cheerful with the kids.
- If you have the chance to go on boat travel on the island near Angra and Ilha grande, please, DO IT! Snorkeling and the chance to swim in a pool in the middle of the sea. Coral reef, fish, blue waters.
- It's in the middle of the jungle but we didn't found of faced any mosquitos or bugs, which was great.
- The pools are big and the beach too, and you always will find a spot to sit and leave your things.
- The hotel's pretty secure. But the beaches are public, so, just be careful, just like any other place in the world. But you have a policeman on the beach too.
- A lot of activities to do all the time!
The cons.
- If you are looking for international cuisine, not the place.
- The staff mostly speaks Portuguese, so, sometimes they are not comfortable with you speaking in another language, and some of them don't even know Spanish, so, communication can be an issue, but not so much.
- The hotel is on an eco-prereservation, so when you are leaving the hotel, they are gonna charge you a fee per day, it's minimum, but it's not expressed in any site where you can book the hotel,(Despegar.com in my case). It's a minimum charge, but you have to py for it. They are very kind to explain that on the check-in process.
- The check-in process tends to be kinda extensive. And if you don't speak Portuguese can be a problem if you need to request or complaint about something.
- Restaurant reservation, it's only in person and from 3pm to 6pm, so, if the hotel it's crowded you can expect a couple of hours waiting in line. They don't have an app for that. And the reservations are in short time windows since the restaurants are small.
- The hotel is quite old, so you can notice that in some places needs some maintenance.
- The kids club it's awesome, but if your kid doesn't speak Portuguese, it's not gonna be easy.
Overall, a place to visit! With kids mostly!
