Pousada Manaca is such a nice place to stay. It is one of the few pousada's that is located on the beach. The owner is really friendly and gave us some advice for restaurants (which you will need as there are a lot of bad restaurants at Ilha Grande). The rooms are small and simple, but clean. Breakfast is really nice as you can watch the ocean while having breakfast.

Very basic pousada with out any charm. Rooms have what you need for this type of stay, very clean, new quiet Ac units, a must in this island due to the mosquitoes. Bathrooms are properly cleaned and have hot water in the shower.
Breakfast like other guests have said are good for the standard on the island, fresh juice, fruits, eggs and some breads and cold cuts, but it gets boring after a couple of days if you are staying longer. The pousada is right on the beach, a short walk from the pier, at night is very peaceful and relaxing if you are staying in one of the rooms with sea views you sleep with the sound of the waves which was great. The common areas do need some work as they look dated and not inviting, their breakfast area which faces the beach has seen better days, the front yard and fence are definitively in need of a make over or at least some paint. I wont be staying here again when I return to Ilha Grande, I walked around the island and saw other little pousadas where I would rather stay, but If you are on a budget and staying out most of the day, visiting the many amazing beaches, water falls, trails, etc. that Ilha Grande has to offer, and only use the pousada for sleeping I do recommend it as it is not as expensive as others I saw. Just go with low expectations as the standard is low and the prices are high like most places in Brazil and you'll have a great time. Internet is not very reliable but this happens all over the island.......

Room Tip: Rooms in the front of the pousada face the beach

what a brilliant and good value accommodation! Safe, clean with an incredible breakfast, overlooking the beach. It's in a great spot - we paid for someone on the pier to carry our bags to the pousada as it's right on the beachfront, so cant wheel cases!! only about 7 min walk from the pier though if you've got good biceps! lovely staff, very tranquil

We had a very pleasant stay at Pousada Manaca. Situated on the beach, the pousada is just a few minutes away from local shops and restaurants. Yet, it was very peaceful at night. Our room was nice with the most powerful shower we've had in Brazil. The owner was very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was extremely generous and delicious!

Gerard and Bianca were so helpful. A basic room, but beautiful, relaxing common areas, and a close walk to everything. The breakfast is amazing, everything was super fresh. I'm still amazed by the mangos. Ihla Grande is the neatest Island , we will be back someday and definitely stay at Manaca.
