This spot is “OK”, nothing more. I stayed in one of the apartment-type units, with a kitchenette (I understand Lonier also has suites that are more like a typical hotel room).
Pros:
• Excellent location, right on the beach right next to the pier in Vila do Abraão.
• It looks decent from the outside.
• A surprisingly good breakfast is included.
Cons:
• The rooms are dated, tired, worn, and don’t really look clean. A renovation could do wonders.
• The beds are cheap, something like you would get at a hostel.
• The towels look they are stained with rust.
• Power cut in and out.
• You have to leave your keys at the front desk every time you leave, which is irritating.
• The only electrical outlet is above the sink in the kitchenette, which makes charging electronics a little awkward.
Bottom Line:
Accommodations on Ilha Grande are expensive, and “value” may be hard to find. If you are spending much time in your pousada on Ilha Grande, you probably aren’t doing it right. This is a place to stay for a passable price (...for Ilha Grande). Get up, eat that good breakfast, and don’t come back until you need to sleep again.
