Good, ordinary camping, just in front of a beautiful beach.

Great location, very nice beach, bathrooms and showers in good condition, some good shades. It might get very busy (e.g. during New Year's holidays) so you will end up squeezing your tent among others' but it's still nice and quiet for a sleep.
Friendly and nice people too :)

This place is located on Palmas, the next bay over from Abraao. The ferry from Angra dos Reis will only drop you at Abraao so you will need to catch another taxi boat to Palmas. The taxi boat cost us 100R for up to 5 people so try and find people who are going the same way and split the cost. Alternatively you can walk between the two bays but this took our friends nearly 2 hours with all their gear on their backs. There are no ATM’s on Ilha Grande so bring plenty of cash so you do not get caught out. Also, there are limited places to eat at Palmas and they are quite expensive so bring some food and use the facilities at the camp ground to cook. There is a supermarket at Abraao. We stayed in one of the bungalows. It was very simple but nice and cosy and not too hot. Due to the location, the breakfast was a little limited but still sufficient. The staff members speak very little English but are helpful and friendly. For a day trip, walk to Lopez Mendez which is apparently the best beach in Brazil and it’s really easy to get to from Palmas.

Room tip: the bungalows are small but cosy for couples

It was awesome to staty in one of the Bangalow´s of Glauco. Despite the heat the bangalow were very nice, warm, no insects..great. The owners are really worried about the clients , if they are feeling well and as if I was alone, Jaqueline one of the employees, was worried if I was safe or not. Glauco the owner was very helpful and he has a boat that makes the transfer from Conceição de Jacareí to Palmas and the other way around.

Room tip: The bathroom is shared, and the people don´t respect the public isue

this is a nice small to medium sized pousada. the rooms were a little small and had that definite mildew fragrance so very common in this environment. we were here to get away from the high energy pace of copacabana (as i am in between gigs) and ilha grande definitely lived up to all expectations of a laid back, natural paradise. the room was basically for sleeping and a little down time, the island is the attraction. the breakfast here is adequate but not rising to really good. we found the place to be quiet and fairly clean - nothing in the bathroom that was disgusting, but not clean like my mother would have liked... seemed to be an average price from what we could tell in our short time, and an average pousada. staff seemed to be generally happy, but very very limited english and was not really helpful in communicating places to go or who to talk to to get the better deals and experiences.

You get what you pay for and so don't expect luxuries. Located in the Abraao Village, the pousada allows easy access to restaurants and stuffs easily. The pousada staff are nice. The rooms look cute but we were given quite badly stained towels. The bed has a slight midewy smell which I think might be the work of humidity. The bathroom is clean enough but the sink is tiny.

Now, the most terrible thing about staying there is not the fault of the pousada itself. There's this bar across from the front gate which blasts loud music probably until 3 or 4 in the morning. Prepare earplugs if you plan on staying there.

If you plan to stay there, try get a room upstairs. There's more privacy.
