This place is located on Palmas, the next bay over from Abraao. The ferry from Angra dos Reis will only drop you at Abraao so you will need to catch another taxi boat to Palmas. The taxi boat cost us 100R for up to 5 people so try and find people who are going the same way and split the cost. Alternatively you can walk between the two bays but this took our friends nearly 2 hours with all their gear on their backs. There are no ATM’s on Ilha Grande so bring plenty of cash so you do not get caught out. Also, there are limited places to eat at Palmas and they are quite expensive so bring some food and use the facilities at the camp ground to cook. There is a supermarket at Abraao. We stayed in one of the bungalows. It was very simple but nice and cosy and not too hot. Due to the location, the breakfast was a little limited but still sufficient. The staff members speak very little English but are helpful and friendly. For a day trip, walk to Lopez Mendez which is apparently the best beach in Brazil and it’s really easy to get to from Palmas.
