Pousada das Araras has been a charming destination for couples and even families for decades now. Exuberant landscaping, nice gardens and creeks, warm chalets and decoration, incredible quietness. It's all there, and it looks even better than years ago.
Unfortunately, given the value of their rates, service, breakfast, amenities and other details should be reviewed - and increased!.
The (small) amount of firewood provided is ridiculous; the 11am breakfast time limit is too early for a place like this, so that at 10:50am ALL the tables are usually taken; the old tubed TV set belongs to the 20th century, and the cable channels' options are so limited that often you have nothing interesting to watch; front desk staff should be much more pleasant and willing to fulfill guests' needs.
Still, it is a nice place to spend e romantic weekend, and time - and management decisions - will show if Pousada das Araras will return to it's more glorious days, or if it will be surpassed by better managed options, more focused on their guests' needs than in saving some cents. Let's see.More
