In a cozy bistro atmosphere you eat the best meat cuts (or fish or chicken) which comes on an 90% empty big plate, leaving room for the most delicious sides that comes non stop rodizio style all you can eat. Quinua Rissoto, sautéed broccoli, ratatouille, and almost a dozen delicious French inspired sides. The dessert is a must have: Rabanada

Posting in English because my Português is not so good. What an amazing experience. You order meat and then the side dishes keep coming. From garlic broccoli to creamed potatoes, lentils and Okra just to name a few.

Definitely a must on your trip to Rio

This restaurant was recommended to us by a Swedish chap staying at our hotel who had lived in Leblon for 3 years before moving back to Sweden.

This is not a fancy place, the place mats have a picture of a cow with the different cuts of meat marked on it, that are on wooden tables. The menu lists the different cuts of meat and the other mains available and then the sides are delivered separately to the table in large pots/pans by the various waiters and you choose which sides, and the quantity of them, that you want. We ordered 2 Picaniha cuts of steak (about BRL100 each) that were both cooked to order and were delicious. We were then also offered, as if on a production line, a range of side dishes including boiled potatoes, mash, broccoli, beetroot, zucchini, okra, crumbled biscuits, ratatouille, polenta, apple passionfruit, potato crisps, rice, toasted faroa plus some others. All of the food was very tasty.

Wine list was not large but we had a good bottle of Merlot.

We were too full to even contemplate dessert.

Service was friendly and efficient and when the bill arrived we left the requisite 10% amount of service charge that had been added to the total bill to cover the service. It was at this stage that the whole ambiance of the evening changed when our waiter, who had only taken our order and delivered the mains, not any of the numerous sides, requested a tip. When I said that I had left a 10% tip he said, quite rudely, that we should leave an extra tip just for him. This was quite embarrassing and, after a quick reflection, we decided that his service didn't require any extra reward, but we still left the restaurant feeling a little bit guilty.

As a result of this I wouldn't recommend this restaurant, even though the food was plentiful and quite tasty.

We had been on the road for a month and this was our last dinner so we wanted to go top shelf. The place has been highly rated and I felt they did a really good job with their food. Especially the meat, we got a nice strip steak for around $ 35- and lots of ( like 10 ) sides with it. Yeah they were only medium spoonfuls, but you got the taste & it was plenty. The weird thing was that we know we cannot eat 2 entrees, so we shared the steak which was actually more than enough. Also shared a ceasar salad and got a bottle of wine. They were cool with that but were watching us like hawks so that we did not share the sides ..What is up with that? We did not ask for more than they offered or seconds. It was so silly, the youngish matre'd out front scolded us once, then had his eye on us the rest of the evening .
So we had to sneak tastes between us.What was the point?
With a 3:1 exchange rate ,even this dinner was totally reasonable, although by local standards I suppose a but pricey. Service was good, the steak was excellent, the weak wine recommendation was not appropriate for a big steak. No room for dessert and probably would not return due to so many other choices in town.

Disappointing... this restaurant use to be a must in Rio, but unfortunately the quality and options of main courses have dropped dramatically. The wine list also diminished with modest wines at expensive prices.
Not going back.
