The horse back bar is great - potent Caiprinhas (the non- premium ones), reasonably priced breakfast, main courses, live music on Fridays and Saturdays. Great view from the verandah. We watched the rains while enjoying dinner, drinks, music and people watching.
The balcony with the room is a cool feature. We used to have our morning coffee there.
Although the hotel website mentions tea/coffee facilities, you have to request it.
Coffee is very good everywhere. Supermarket is close by to stock up on water etc.
We found very reasonably priced '51' cachaca in an 'extra' supermkt in largo de machado. R5 something after a discount!
Had a lovely food at Zot, on bolivar street. Watched a football match in Maracana. Did Christ the redeemer, Sugar loaf. Had a relaxing time over 5 days. People are friendly and relaxed. An overall good trip.More
