The hotel is close to Leblon Beach and to the best bars/restaurants around. Nice rooms and good breakfast. Every time I travel to Rio I stay here, it´s not fancy (it´s an apart hotel), but it fits perfectly for a weekend.

As per the previous reviews, the location of this place is perfect. Great neighborhood, very safe, even at night. The lobby and staff are also quite nice. The rooms are terrible, another traveller on this board accurately equated them to Motel 6 rooms. I would say at least Motel 6 is cleaner. Rooms here are musty, moldy, and there are bugs. The bathrooms are especially very moldy. We paid $300/night, which is very poor value. You are essentially paying for the safety of the location. We were so disappointed with the rooms we checked out one night earlier. I would not return. Look for a different hotel in Ipanema or Leblon area, there are many alternatives.

As most of Rio de Janeiro's hotels, this follows as being very expensive for what it offers.

The room is good, but nothing to be of great memory. The service is very courteous, and the breakfast buffet is excellent.

Location is great, with easy access to Leblon beach and public transport.

Hotels in Rio are notoriously expensive and it's also easy to wind up staying in a dangerous part of town. We therefore spent a long time picking our Rio accommodation for a three day stay at the end of nine weeks of traveling.

In short, we feel we couldn't have made a better choice. Promenade Palladium is in perhaps the safest part of town and around the corner are some great bars, cafes and restaurants. Two minutes walk away is the beach (again, perhaps the safest in town) and a two minute walk the other way are shops and other facilities.

The rooms in the hotel are all well appointed. We stayed on the sixth floor and had a great little balcony facing out onto the street. The rooms were clean, tidy and well equipped, and noise was never an issue.

The breakfast boasts a wide selection of quality foods and the lobby has a laptop for guests to use, which we found pretty useful.

But above all else perhaps the best asset the hotel has to offer is the staff. They're really friendly, well-trained and extremely helpful. Nothing is too much trouble and we felt they were genuinely concerned that we had the best possible stay.

All in all, we found the hotel felt more like a 4-star than a 3-star. A great end to our trip and a good choice for anyone wanting a safe and fun visit to the city.

Room Tip: Go high!

Security is always a concern when visiting Rio but this hotel and its location offer assurance on that front. The side street its on is a little dark at night but stay on the main street side rather than wandering towards the seafront and it'll be fine. Great choice of quality pubs, restaurants and cafes in the locale, loved Kopenhagen chocolate shop and Conversa la Fiada pub; gorgeous Brazilian cocktails.
The hotel itself is very modern, boutique in style with friendly staff. Breakfast was included in our rate and was very interesting; different hot choices every day and lots of confectionary.
There's a compact pool but I didn't use it.
Street side rooms have great light and a small balcony.
Very easy to walk to nearby Ipanema but quite a trek to the Copacabana. Worth it if you venture along by the seashore in the morning however, amazing how busy Rio's beaches are
